It won't be illegal at all - that's the horror. There are statutory exceptions to Posse Comitatus that will make all of it entirely legal. And I would bet a LOT of money that Trump will use them frequently.

Moreover, 'The Imperial System' (that the US insists on using) is still a case of "Europe telling us how to measure things". So, resistance is stupid.

Start assembling a general strike with the public, be very public about potentially shutting down whatβs left of the federal government by refusing to pass the debt ceiling, publicly call their Republican colleagues craven shitweasels, the list goes on and on and on and on and on and

Hold press conferences with federal employees who have been fired speaking, go on national shows and give their time to federal employees who have been fired so they can speak, lead daily protests outside the White House and associated buildings, stop pretending you can collaborate with fascists

While there are bigger frauds in this world than Kelly Loeffler, you kind of have to really look hard in order to find one of them. If she's interested in rooting out fraud, all that bitch needs to do is look in the mirror.

Not only will they say they tried, but aren't they likely also to say that they were overruled by 'activist judges'? Isn't that a big chunk of the S.O.P.?

We should start playing hardball now and NEVER stop - at least, not for a few generations. Rs never learn and never give up their delusional vision.

Yes. I'm widowed as a result of alcohol. My late husband developed end stage liver disease *before he was 50*. I'm well versed in alcoholic behavior. Thanks for asking.

As soon as he made reference to "all the best scientists in government", I screamed, "YOU FIRED ALL THE BEST SCIENTISTS IN GOVERNMENT YOU NUMPTY!" (I used a different word than 'numpty'). Can't believe he had the balls to say what he did. 'Randomly killing chickens'. What a fuckin' tool that guy.

I wondered about that. Specifically, "he can't be THAT stupid, can he?!" I was pretty sure that he *could* actually be that stupid, but probably hadn't been. At least, not this early in his tenure.

Of course they are. They'll come for absolutely everything - make no mistake. They're going to require that courts force them to reinstate the funds/coverage, and they may even tell the courts to go fuck themselves. That last bit is unclear.

LOL. I always tell them, "Let me throw on a clo and I'll be right there". (My lexical musings as a kid figured that the singular form for, 'clothes', had to be 'clo'. I still use it to this day.) They usually are too distracted by the weird word to be uncomfortable.

As this has unfolded, her message likely got communicated better than if she'd refused and made them fire her. I suspect that's coincidental, but it seems to have worked out.

You may well be right. But so am I. And, insofar as 'should' is a modal term ... that's just fine.

Not only that, but (and this is the best part by far) he did it *with cameras rolling in the room*! That's the part that is going to have VP Trump seething until he dies.

On the one hand, any attorney with her background who couldn't figure out how to spin a firing to her advantage was probably out of her league anyway. But on the other hand, she *did* get coverage on her resignation that made them look pretty damn bad.

I suspect that with her pedigree (Fed Society connections and having clerked for Scalia) she'd land on her feet all the same. And anyone who doesn't already know that ETTD is going to find out sooner or later.
