The transportation industry in this one week had whiplash as billions on projects were put on hold, some are now cancelled for having the work “equity” in a title, and job hiring was frozen given the uncertainty of what they are doing

In my experience, I don’t see consultants or even city staff downing what this author proclaims is happening. Examples may be given from the Netherlands, but local examples are always prioritized.

It is hard to watch decline occur. I always hold out hope for and admire those communities that find a way to persevere and evolve.

Those valleys are so tight. I presume all these buildings in the photo were torn down? It must have been quite an experience growing up in a former company town.

Sounds like the tech or the programming has a waymo to go to understand crosswalk laws! But having tried the waymo, I was impressed at how it can detect everything out there. Redundant tech seems key to driverless car future. Same for signals?
