♀🌎On this day of acknowledgment of women's struggle for their rights, we stand in solidarity with them. Women in the Global South, especially, are the hardest hit by the climate crisis. Demanding climate justice goes together with demanding justice for women and the end of gender-based inequalities.

Air travel causes excessive pollution. Long-distance flights emit 10 to 20x more CO2 than regional train or car travel. Only 4% of the world’s population travelled internationally by air in 2018; at most 1% of the people in the world are frequent flyers.

Climate-friendly flying doesn't exist. Lowering emissions while continuing to fly as much as we do today is impossible. Aviation can only accomplish net-zero with drastic reduction measures. Yet KLM continues to promote frequent flying with its FlyingBlue program. We demand KLM to stop promoting it.

On March 7 there will be rallies in the US to protest against the assault on scientists and scientific infrastructures. The organisers call on policymakers, institutions, and the scientific community to uphold the integrity of science, protect its accessibility, and ensure its benefits serve people.

Governments try to let it pass 'silently' and are failing us. People should know about it and be angry! 🔥

According to the Eerlijke Geldwijzer website, ING is the most polluting bank in NL. Indeed, since the Paris agreement (2015), ING has invested nearly 60 billion dollars in #fossilfuels.

We call on ING to take the climate crisis seriously.

💵 In 2022 alone, ING’s financed emissions reached 61 megatons—equivalent to Sweden’s entire national emissions. Additionally, between 2020 and 2023, ING invested €6.6 billion in companies operating in illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

💰ING’s recent pledge to reduce fossil industry financing by 2040 is not enough to stay within 1.5°C global warming, ignoring the urgency of the climate crisis. ING's financial flows to fossil fuels remain much larger than those to climate mitigation projects.

2024 has been the warmest year ever recorded, with average temperatures reaching for the first time +1.5C relative to 200 years ago! The government has a direct responsibility in this situation and we call our politicians to take action. They must stop propping-up this dirty industry.

The Dutch government provides around 40 billion euros each year to the fossil fuel industry, which actively participates in the acceleration of the climate crisis, via the emission of greenhouse gases and release of toxic chemicals during gas and oil production.

Currently, VWS is completely silent when it comes to the impact of the #climatecrisis on the quality of life and health of people. We urge the ministry to take its responsibility.
Caring for the climate is caring for each other!

VWS must take responsibility for health and well-being themes in the (climate) policies of other ministries. To this end, it should develop policies to deal with the adverse health effects of climate change, especially for those in vulnerable regions and positions.

The right to health is a human right, but today it is threatened by massive greenhouse gas emissions and bad choices the government is making about national and international #climatejustice. We demand that the government takes effective measures to protect us by stopping global warming.

- Also in general if you want to know your rights as a protester and learn how to protest safely. A useful skill set to stand up against the causes of the climate crisis.

The Waddenzee is a unique environment where numerous bird species depend on the seabed during low tides to get their food. The Waddenzee is a shallow sea, already very vulnerable to the effects of climate change. Extracting gas from under the seabed increases these risks.
