Gonna start the makeover on this cheapie Strat…first up is sanding the back of the neck and refinishing, and sanding the headstock for a custom paint job. Then locking tuners, new string trees. Once all of that is done then it’s time for a new bridge, saddles - mixed metals to match these knobs.

Still have guitar stuff on my workbench, so here’s another art from the archive… This is acrylic on reclaimed cardboard and shipping paper (that brown stuff), that was pressed and gessoed to form a nice rigid painting surface. Gives it kind of a fun random texture. I get bored 🤷‍♂️😉🖖

Using the last year as comparison: Fender definitely has far superior customer service to Amazon. The one down side is Fender uses FedEx…who has screwed up every time. But Amazon shipping has gotten almost as bad, costs more. So our new Starcaster was ordered Fender direct, arriving Monday 😁🖖

Okay…so my first guitar mod project. I didn’t want to muck up a nice instrument while I learned, so I got the cheapest one I could find 🤷‍♂️ This NotAStrat is from GEARIT, who I’d never heard of. And straight out of the box…I saw a big problem. So I’ve got it on the bench, and am gettin’ to work 👍🖖

Figured I should throw out an art quick since my painting station is gonna be a guitar bench for a little while… I don’t do a lot of paintings for myself, but when I do, it’s often times a Van Gogh. 1st time around I didn’t use pedals, had an Alesis Quadraverb GT as my only effects. This time around I’m taking a pedal journey. Now…I’m on a budget so my first pedals are all from the least $$$ end of spectrum, but it’s a start. About to set up my board. This is the most fun I’ve had in YEARS!😁
