The guys in the White House talk all day about how soft the Europeans are. But when there is an actual war in the actual world, the Trump people immediately submit to what they think is the stronger side and complain that everyone else doesn’t do the same.

In a healthy democracy, he'd be impeached for this alone.

I know we're all sort of inured to it at this point but it's wild that the most powerful man in the world operates, at best, at a first grade reading level

What a shitty framing in the article. Most of us in other parts of the world would sell an organ to have the kind of government support for research that the USG provides. There’s no “dependency” - it is one of the best uses of taxpayer money.

An absolute must-read from @stevevladeck.bsky.social this morning: “Just before 1:00 a.m., the justices (aggressively) stepped back into the Alien Enemy Act litigation—in a decision suggesting that a majority understands that these are no longer normal circumstances.”

We in the US NEED to hear this. Plus the obliviousness of American journalists is absurd but dangerous.

Good interview to share with Americans still not getting it. While some of the points made by @stephenmarche.bsky.social may be a bit hard to hear or sound overblown to some, the directness and clarity was refreshing. His statements largely represent my views. youtu.be/3c55rUOHjdY?...
