Yeah - I wish Peter Jackson could/would do a reverse "extended version" of the film and whittle it down to like two or three hours as originally intended.

I heard that in my head to the tune of Petula Clark's "Downtown."

True! But Dylan has had a contentious relationship with the state, too. Should go to Prince, no question.

Power is out on my block, perfect excuse to walk up there this evening.

I have an old friend in Washington state and he's been hyped about the Cascadia movement since the election. I wonder what we'd call a movement for MN, WI & MI.

Dang, I hope whoever wrote that theme song is getting a cut of the royalties for the Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive."

When a truck is stopped on a residential block for what seems like an unreasonable amount of time, I like to think they've just stopped for a quickie, and more power to them. Thankless job.

I like UPS Ground because they let you see the GPS location of the delivery vehicle. Exciting to see it four blocks away one minute and then five miles away the next, over and over again for six hours.

Right? They can be downright creepy. I buy some Boveda humidity packs and then my personal sales rep/new best friend apparently who I never before interacted with starts calling and emailing me to find out how I like my new "gear" and how I'm using it. Back off, dude!

If someone asked me for directions to the Central Avenue SE Bridge I would have absolutely no idea what they were talking about.

Funny, I can't see any of the comments here (blocked/been blocked?) but I assume someone has mentioned Bell Bottom Blues by Derek & the Dominoes...

I for one look forward to Tiffany Trump's heartwarming musical tribute to the January 6 Prison Choir.

I got the shipping notice for my Wren & Cuff "mystery box" tonight. Pretty excited to find out what they sent me, but I've already got more dirt pedals than I know what to do with! I've never had one of theirs, though, they seem to get a lot of love.

Trump's "plan" for relocation - as if. Just a senile man prattling on in public about one of his ridiculous obsessions. Only he's not a sad old guy on the bus, he's the effing president and he's going to get people killed.

Now I'm curious if those stories are on the front page of Wapo & the NYT, or if they're buried on like page A21.

Pirner always seemed like a pretty pedestrian songwriter to me, so I guess I'm not too surprised he's picking up reissues of the canon. At least he's finally getting around to buying a Wire album after all these years! Hope springs eternal.

Richard Thompson - Don't Sit on My Jimmy Shands
"Call me precious I don't mind
78s are hard to find
You just can't get the shellac since the war
This one's the Beltona brand
Finest label in the land
They don't make them like that any more"

Even so, Stevie & Herbie gave a highlight performance and that makes it sound like they were relegated to bit performers for the night. I haven't read the whole article, though.

Funny. I was watching reruns of Law & Order: Criminal Intent on Charge! and luckily switched to the Grammys during a commercial break just in time to see that performance. Backup band, indeed.

I wouldn't be surprised. That seems to be his M.O. Go hard, get smacked down, cave and claim victory.

I was teenage fanatic and I have a strong personal attachment to some of their stuff, the White Album especially, but I really don't listen that often anymore. And I find singles like "Now & Then" ghoulish and awful.

I picked up a bag a week or so ago when Doritos were on sale. Not as much heat as I was expecting but a good flavor profile - kinda hard to describe. Haven't seen 'em since, though, sadly.

After typing that I flashed back to 90s Uptown and recalled waiting in line to pick up a disc at a shop on Lake just a block off Hennepin, think it was Disc Go Round but I'm hazy on that.
