We’re still in the time window where people booked ahead and can’t cancel. This will get worse.

Use of the maple leaf any any red text referencing Canada should be restricted to only Made in Canada/Product of Canada. Looks like we need to update our labelling laws.

OK, hear me out: Canon Maxify. I just ran one continually for over a week, only stoppping overnight. Went through 9 full bottles of ink and a maintenance cartridge. Only had to run the roller cleaning cycle once. Absolute beast.

Pierre needs to stop trying to make the Carbon Tax Election happen.

I’m curious how it’s changing the ā€œJust Like Justinā€ attack. If people’s memories are short, it doesn’t carry much weight anymore.

People underestimate the defensive advantage we have. Our GDP shrinks? CA Voters: ā€œWho cares: our sovereignty matters more.ā€ Their GDP shrinks? US Voters: ā€œWTF? We voted to lower costs!ā€

I’ve felt the same way about every Trump parody sketch. He’s just not a character I can laugh at.

Reminded me a lot of the American TV hosts asking Canadian guests what they think of the 51st State rhetoric with a smile on their face. To us on this side of the border, it isn’t a joke.

It’s accurate, but I found it very disturbing to watch. Hearing an audience laugh over footage that represents the potential destruction of a democratic nation didn’t feel right. If the audience was Ukrainian, it would have been a different experience altogether.

The real Gulf of America is the distance between it and every other functioning democracy.

Business idea: a dating app, but when you both swipe right on each other, it automatically orders Viagara and Depends.

Russia conscripts the men in the territories they take over and sends them into other wars, and kills and political dissidents. How would it prevent death?

I’m not sure if I follow your line of thinking. In the case of Ukraine in 2014, what would have been the solution, knowing what we know today that Russia would continue to take territory as much as they’re allowed to?

There’s a saying by Wall St investors, ā€œnever be the first through the door,ā€ that I think captures a wider historical truth for the US. When the cause is good, I always hope Canada is the first through the door.

Looks like he blocked me for…reading his article but disagreeing? That’s a first.

This article, much like yours, goes through the conflicted history of the phrase but comes to a much different conclusion: www.dw.com/en/new-glory...

The red/black flag is unambiguous, and the scarf with the full phrase is clearly associated with the OUN. ā€œSlava Ukrainiā€ on its own appears to have taken on a different and more benign meaning entirely, used specifically in resistance to Russian aggression.

I read your article when it first came out and I read it again now, but it doesn’t convince me what I said above is incorrect.

I believe the controversy with Freeland was related to the *colour* of the scarf, which aligned with the flag colour used in the 30s and does not have a more modern meaning.

If Wikipedia is believed, it has a long history that predates its use in the 1930s, with it being revived multiple times in the decades since. Meanings change over time, and this particular phrase seems to have lost the negative context it had at one point.

If he finished it that quickly, that’s some Good Will Hunting shit.

Good to see the results within the error bars, but interesting how closely they PC and Liberals were to the edge of those bands. Any insight into what caused that?
