Well, not usually, I mean even a little chewing of body parts, in the right circumstances, but I have my limits.

Yes, something about that possibility for me too. There's a pastiness thing that can almost trigger a gag reflex. Similar to when they shove those molds in your mouth at the dentist.

Skiing is a sport in which one minor injury can lead to something more serious. It can be a slippery slope.

Two billion connections is extraordinary and the real power.
Look at all those likes too.
People are really communicating here.

Very interesting. In my case the crunch and absorbency of toast would help a lot. Also of note, my daughter has similar sensory / texture issues (although different foods), but no such problems with my wife or sons.

Funny thing is, I don't eat eggs at all (unless in some recipe). It's a texture thing. But the phenomenon reminds me of the time not so long ago, when Italians had a pasta shortage, and violence was not far away. (I'm not a fan of pasta either, also for the texture)

This is the rubber meeting the road. If you were to take the ferry over and bring some back while tariffs were in place, you would presumably have to go through "Stuff to Declare" and pay the government the import tax.
That's almost worth the trouble to explain to Americans how tariffs work.

Absolutely! This AGI stuff is f** garbage. Folks are believing LLMs are more than in fact they are. For true intelligence you need to understand consequences and that starts with having a freaking nervous system with a gazillion real world sensors and a brain that can actually suffer consequences.

I agree before I've even read the article, OG, because I know what's coming. Going to read it right now though....

That's a good take. As Popes go he's been fairly decent and better than some. And who is anyone to judge another's path? I don't know his story but we all have to do our best, flowing with the circumstances we face.

I was about to protest that it wasn't me until you clarified they were birds. 😁
We spent a few nights in an Air BnB on the Oregon coast last weekend and were lucky to have a view of a nest, only a block away from us.
They really are fabulous creatures.

They're great! Sitting here doing nothing whatsoever, just watching.... It felt like *I* was a bald eagle too. 😁
(In fact, I'm 50% there already; just need to work on the eagle bit.)

The FDA approved a ketamine nasal spray treatment, the day after the recent inauguration. Coincidence I'm sure.

This is bullying, pure and simple. It is certainly not what you would do if your motivation was to improve operations.

I do hope the momentum continues to build. The DOGE back should be broken by now.

Oh things won't seem so bad tomorrow, once the Sunday shows have had a chance to normalize the situation. All we're missing is a little "both sides" calibration.

I don't always start new positions of trust and authority but when I do, I like to threaten my critics.

Exactly. The IGs and JAGs, the competent, law-abiding types, then the easy prey - probationary folks, and if no one says boo, on it will go..

They're trying to fire all the people who would say no, replacing them with rubber stamps. The Chief of Joint Services being the most recent. We are terrifyingly dependent on enough Republicans in Congress, to stand up with Dems and stop the madness, before nothing is left.

I hadn't heard of him being kicked out. With SpaceX he has more than 75% voting rights so it's hard to see how that could happen.

As tragic as accidentally overdosing on ketamine can be, in this case it could benefit the shareholders of several companies, who are currently stuck with a part-time CEO.

Pretty much a straight trade: weapons exchanged for drugs and cheap labor.

Agreed. This is a rare note of optimism so I tend to believe he's on to something.
