The Roman Bath in Bath, England was built between 60-70AD. After seeing the ruined one in Trier, Germany, two years ago, it was really cool seeing a still standing one. I guess they just don't build things now like they used to. #photography

I have discovered that the local museum for a fee will send me high rez prints/paintings/artwork from hundreds of years ago. I've been researching the history of Heidelberg, and it's cool noticing the changes over time. The top is from 1550, and the bottom from 1620.

I had a staycation for my bday. I stopped by a french bakery, walked the baroque bridge, visited the castle, did some shopping, did some sketching, did some reading, saw a Rembrandt exhibit, hiked, found ruins from 500 years ago, and got ramen. Today was a good day in Heidelberg. #Photography

When we lived in Texas, we hatched hundreds of monarchs every year. RIGHT before they hatched their chrysalis turned clear, and it was so cool being able to see inside. They would burst free, dry their wings, and go feed on flowers in our garden. It was always amazing to watch. #Photography

Mount Tallac and Fallen Leaf Lake. This was one of those sunsets I got to watch with my sister and her family. It was minutes after I saw my 1st wild bear and to be honest I was kinda freaked out cause it was HUGE. We are pretty sure it was "Hank the Tank" who is a Tahoe legend. #Photography

Sunday walk…

This commission statement refers to people with Autism, ADHD, asthma, auto-immune disease, and chronic illness as a “dire threat to the American people and our way of life”. This is a manifesto against disability. This is the language of eugenics.

1. Despite Republican attacks in recent years, America is queerer than ever before. LGBTQ+ identification has risen to 9.3% in the last Gallup Poll, a huge jump from 7.6% last year. I cover the latest numbers in my story. Subscribe to support my journalism.

Throughout Germany you will find brass tiles embedded in the cobble and sidewalks. They are memorials of remembrance for those persecuted/killed during the Holocaust. This is a rare one where someone "flucht" (escaped). Usually they end in "tot" (death). Don't forget the past, especially now.

I've been doing a bunch of research in Heidelberg, which has required excursions throughout the city. The best part has been finding quiet alleys or picturesque places I hadn't yet seen. It seems like very other block there is a new photogenic spot... #Photography #Heidelberg #LandscapePhotography

Yesterday was one of those days where I was like, "I've not been to the castle in a while, I should go!" I did and it was great time. We've been lucky living here, and I always try to not take it for granted. Plus the Heidelberg castle is just awesome and always worth seeing again. #Photography

The truth behind travel videos…

17 states are literally suing to make it okay to kill me and people like me. Abled allies, please show up. I haven't seen much from you in the last five years. I want to believe you'll be there now. Will you be?

Shark Fin Cove, CA. I took this last year, when visiting my sister. Having grown up on at the beach on the Atlantic it was surreal seeing the Pacific for the 1st time. The rocky cliffs and rich sunsets were amazing. Plus places like this are always more special with loved ones. #Photography

Edinburgh. There is something special about European cities before sunrise. They are calm, quiet, and you have the streets to yourself, which never gets old. I think we will be heading back to Scotland later this year, only this time the goal is the Highlands and Isle of Skye! #Photography

The Duomo in Florence. It's surreal to visit somewhere in a video game and then to go there more than fifteen years later. I could have never guessed back in 2009 when playing Assassin's Creed 2 that one day I'd visit Florence let alone live in Europe. #photography

Vintage elevator in Florence…

The waterfall in the new episode of Severance is Awosting Fall at the Minnewaska State Park Preserve in New York. This is my photo from 13 years ago. My camera and lens weren't as good as my current gear, but it's kind of cool that I've been doing landscape photos and traveling for so long.

Book 2 of my Christmas rom com series went out to alpha readers! Next week I start rewriting book 3. I hope to have books 3 and 4 done this year. Then I want to do some short fiction, maybe a time travel rom com set in Heidelberg, and then finally jump back in and finish my epic fantasy series!

San Gimignano was amazing. I can see why people love the Tuscan region so much…

I love the Alps and living in Heidelberg, but my 3rd most favorite region we've explored in Europe is Alsace, France. Timbered houses. Pastels. Canals. Cobbled streets. Quiet nights when the tour buses leave... It's like walking through Howl's Moving Castle or Beauty and the Beast. #Photography

Almost time to renew my visa…

Sunset at Horseshoe Bend. What I remember most about this evening is not the view or sunset... but the scorpions. SOOO many scorpions. I had a UV flashlight and saw dozens between where I took the photo and the parking lot. It was soooo creepy and scary! #Photography #LandscapePhotography

I polished five chapters, did some trip planning, did laundry, did some cooking and now… now it is time to relax with some tea and a book!

Tuscany is lovely…

‼️ The State Department has REMOVED TQIA+ on their page of recommendations for queer travelers. This page yesterday said "LGBTQIA+" and now just says "LGB". The federal government is trying to erase trans people from existence.

Bath, England, is super pretty, but at night the narrow alleys are creepy. I kept thinking that back in olden days this would have been a great place for a vampire to make someone quietly disappear. So if anyone is working on a vampire historical romance, consider bath. #photography #england

Hello everyone! We compiled a list of Trans Inclusive / LGBTQIA+ health resources. Normally we wouldn't ask for engagement, but sharing this around would be deeply appreciated. Remember: You're not alone. We'll endure. www.broadlyepi.com/lgbtqia-heal... #MedSky #LGBTQIA+ #TransRights #HumanRights

Monterey Bay is lovely. I saw my first wild sea otters, sea lions, and seals here! After I shot this, I went out to breakfast and spent the day with my sister and her family. It's hard living so far away, but photos like this which refresh the memories help. #Photography #LandscapePhotography

Perks of living in Germany…

If you're looking for things that you can actually *do* this is a good account to follow: there are clear calls to action with helpful scripts for what to say.

It's important to stay informed, but it's important to not drain yourself every second of your online time. I'm moving news and activist accounts to a list I can check. (Personally, I don't mind friends/folks I follow posting news - I want people to be their whole selves. That's my threshold.)

I took this photo a year ago today, after visiting my sister in Tahoe. Of all the valleys I've seen and photographed, this view and the view from Wengen/Lauterbrunnen in Switzerland have to be my two favorite. I'm a sucker for towering granite cliffs. #photography #Yosemite #LandscapePhotography

Time is short…

There is something special about medieval cities at sunrise. Europe is so quiet in the morning. Other than at a train station, you are lucky to find a cafe or coffee shop open before nine. Thus mornings become a magical time to explore, and soak in the beauty with untold solitude.

I obviously love taking photos in the Alps, but my second favorite place to take photos in Europe has been in old libraries. There is something special about going to a beautiful Baroque library that's centuries if not a millennia older than the country you were born in.
