Love Chicago (lived there, great city) but every time I went downtown LA it was great, interesting, full of food and stuff to do, walkable, and the excellent transit meant access to beaches, parks, neighborhoods.

I think (a) part of it is that the media story is that of course the left and liberals protest whereas it’s interesting when the right does. No matter how many left/liberal protesters play against type, it’s always the mere existence of right protesters that seems newsworthy.

Thought about that. Reason I didn’t is that Indy SAGE communicated science and conflict but there’s no UK equivalent to eg potentially replacing CDC when state regulators write essential benefits lists. That latter role could be *powerful* but for good reasons doesn’t exist in UK
