What a dickhead. I’m glad I never made an effort to do anything with that dude.

I think it was Newport right? I got lucky with my freshman roommate, we got along great, but he did pivot from being a baseball player to a rapper in the span of 2-3 months. He was a white dude from rural Colorado…

Related -- my wife and I should be banned from taking photos on rides. The amount of poor families that have had their ride shots destroyed by us...

But it would give us a chance to finally buy and use stadium buddies!

Steam Deck was a game changer this past year. Not only caught up on a lot of backlog games, but played a ton of remote play for PS5/Xbox, and old-school games via emulation. Still think it's the best tech I've bought in years. And almost forgot how much I played Deep Rock Galactic Survivor!

Wish it was a stronger first outing, but glad we’ll get a season two, hopefully some lessons can be learned. I understand they’re video game IPs, but maybe don’t greenlight 3 separate episodes to revolve around the concept of respawning?

Some standouts in the second half of SECRET LEVEL (The Outside Worlds, Exodus) but a bunch felt like extended mobile ads or promos. The PlayStation “Fulfillment” ep was weakest of the season. Mega Man and Spelunky barely enough time to be interesting if visually great.

I guess I’m ready for the Switch 2, barely touched my Switch this year. As someone who tends to be a completionist, the only 3 Switch games I touched all got a handful of hours from me before I dropped off. The remasters didn’t justify a replay, and Zelda felt like TotK-lite, quickly repetitive.

I thought it was only fine, but appreciated that it didn’t really waste any time up front, even if it quickly lost steam. Most films would’ve saved a lot of that stuff for a big reveal 2/3 in. And it did look wildly bland and low budget.

I much prefer the 6 episode approach. Avoids bloated 8-10+ episode seasons, that often end up with a 2yr gap. I love that I can bank on a new Slow Horses season annually, that even end with a trailer for the next season.

About 10hrs into Metaphor, and this absolutely will be near the top of my favorites of 2024. Loving it so far.

We tore through it over the weekend, was bummed when I had to stop 4 episodes in yesterday to go to a Christmas party. Wanted to leave early just to have time to finish the final episodes. Hopefully we get more!

I do wish the combat didn't feel like an after thought. I found the firearms to be a weak last resort, and melee weapons were very sluggish and oddly animated. Hand-to-hand was fun, but simple. Also, the AI is atrocious, and I had a lot of bugs, but I still think this easily lands in my 2024 Top 10.

And I should’ve snapped a pic, but someone in my 9:10am showing of The Order was rocking the @andycortez.cool Bloodborne sweater, a first for both of us running into another fan in public!

Mine was busted. It said I was at 97hrs total for the year, but tons of tracking was weird. Guess I did a speedrun to complete Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth…

Mine was broken by my household as well. I’ll take ownership for Taylor Swift and Sabrina Carpenter, but I definitely didn’t listen to hours upon hours of Sara Bareilles or Acapella stations.
