To be fair, they were Pro Tour invited not RC invites. I'm still angry at WotC and the USA in general, how hypocrite of them all.
I definitely supported VML having PT invites and support affirmative action.

I like where Standard is at right now, it's sad that they cut off Pioneer just when it had gotten so good đ¤Ļââī¸ but I'm enjoying Standard, maybe you could give it a try. You can even do lands shenanigans đ.

It has a few things going for it, main one being instant speed activation.
Sounds designed to be played alongside Iridiscent Vinelasher, which would solve the ping problem.
I'm sure there are more repeatable pings in the set.
It could be a worse Analyst in some Lands shell.

I wasn't the one playing, it was my teammate, he went with Convoke and ended 12th on a great Constructed run, he correctly identified a weakness in the meta vs go wide decks.
