The gang at @scoutedftbl.com is on such an incredible run. Every piece is so fucking good -- best stuff anywhere, really -- and this'll only expand that.

*NEW* In my first piece for @scoutedftbl.com, I've written about the much-coveted Emanuel Emegha and his unique profile within the context of Strasbourg's tactical approach, and what it all means for the clubs interested in him. Do give it a read! scoutedftbl.com/why-everyone...

Welcome to SCOUTED, Ashwin 🤝 We are delighted to announce we have secured the services of @ashwinraman.bsky.social ahead of the summer. He joins the editorial team on a short-term deal and will bolster our output with a bespoke newsletter, focussing on football's rising stars and hot topics.

Big news dropping in five minutes...

Here's some words I wrote about Max Dowman

What a week for IF Brommapojkarna. Viktor Gyökeres won the Primeira Liga on Sunday, now Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Bergvall have won the UEFA Europa League on Wednesday. Imagine how many kids in their academy – one of the biggest and most productive in the world – will be inspired by this.

Micky van de Ven being a freak. Important.

A total of nine academy graduates feature in the Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United matchday squads for this UEFA Europa League final. All of them are on the substitutes' bench. One of them is 37-year-old Jonny Evans.

If you want to get ahead of the curve on the future of football, you should follow the #U17EURO. The opening round gave us a glimpse of an "octopus" at the heart of a strong French side, a bulldog-like battler in England's midfield, and the prodigious Max Dowman. Here's our standouts from MD1.

The forward options in France's preliminary squad for the 2025 #U21EURO: 🇫🇷 Jean-Mattéo Bahoya 🇫🇷 Noah Edjouma 🇫🇷 Hugo Ekitiké 🇫🇷 Tidiam Gomis 🇫🇷 Arnaud Kalimuendo 🇫🇷 Eli Junior Kroupi 🇫🇷 Wilson Odobert 🇫🇷 Loum Tchaouna 🇫🇷 Mathys Tel Not a bad selection to pick from, is it?

In awe at the sheer size of Luca Brughmans, Belgium captain at this year's #U17EURO. Someone go get that GIF of Willem Dafoe.

This is the model MLS should be following. Having been saying this for years.

Max Dowman showed himself in England's #U17EURO opener against Belgium. Despite being the youngest player on the pitch by a mile, the only one born in 2009, he was still a cut above—skill, athleticism, fearlessness, personality. You can't keep a talent like him under wraps for long.

Year after year, Belgian clubs find uncut gems from unusual places, often at undervalued prices, polish them up then sell them for significant profits. Their recruitment model is perhaps the most diverse in football, and certainly among the most successful. Llew Davies reveals how they do it.

'How to recruit like the Belgian Pro League' – our latest detailed analysis, powered by SkillCorner data – has just dropped on the SCOUTED website. Go find it before we post it.

Transfer business is heating up... SC Freiburg have just signed 19-year-old Cyriaque Irié and 23-year-old Yuito Suzuki, two dynamic attackers that we like a lot. They've invested a combined €16 million to get them and the potential that they can sell them for twice that in a year or two.

From Nick Woltemade to Guéla Doué, discover the most fascinating U-23 players from the 2024/25 Ligue 1 and Bundesliga seasons with Jake Entwistle in the latest SCOUTED Squad.

A much-anticipated senior debut for 17-year-old Harry Howell at Brighton & Hove Albion. Born in Worthing, been at the academy since age seven, part of the Hinshelwood family who have deep roots at the club, a standout for the U-21s all season, and an England U-17 international. Just the beginning.

Rudy Matondo is a monster runner. He has those telescopic legs that eat up ground, driving him across the pitch with speed and intensity, covering and carrying from midfield for France in their #U17EURO opener against Germany. Auxerre have another eye-catching talent on their hands.

Mateus Mide was the obvious standout for Portugal in their #U17EURO opener, a comfy win against hosts Albania. High-level technical talent, solutions in tight spaces, touch as a creator, even defensive efforts. Every time he was involved, good things happened. Graduate of the FC Porto academy.

As the UEFA U-17 EURO kicks off in less than an hour, a timely reminder that you can watch every match for free on UEFA.tv in the UK and elsewhere. Recent editions have featured Yamal, Cubarsí, Nwaneri, Lewis-Skelly, and more. Get ahead of the curve on football's future: watch the #U17EURO.

🏋️‍♂️ Duel-dominating centre-backs 🕵️‍♂️ Inverting both-sides full-back 👽 Other-worldly ball progressor 🃏 Wildcards in the forward pack 🎯 Big Target Forward prospect Here's our Alternative Team of the Season for the 2024/25 Championship, driven by data, compiled by Jake Entwistle.

When it comes to progressing the ball, Hayden Hackney is on a different planet. The Middlesbrough midfielder was the most prolific progressor of possession there was in the Championship this campaign, and that's why he made our Alternative Team of the Season. Read more on SCOUTED: bit.ly/4jQPvM7

In amidst all of that Serie A nonsense: Mandela Keita, you have earnt our attention.

If you're wondering who the next Cymru Premier player to make the leap to the EFL is, it will probably be Louis Lloyd from Caernarfon. 21-year-old that has scored 21 goals in 35 appearances this season and already has experience at EFL clubs. He looks ready to stick the tough landing.

Lamine Yamal. You know what's coming...

We may as well schedule this post for every Arsenal game at this point, but Myles Lewis-Skelly is ridiculously good at using his body.

1. FC Köln are U-19 Bundesliga champions for the first time in their history! They beat a strong Bayer Leverkusen side at the BayArena in a mental final earlier today: nine goals in total, four scored in a mad 11-minute comeback, all in front of 25,000 fans. Great spectacle and top talent on show.

That goal was classic Iliman Ndiaye. Playing off the front, getting the ball on the turn, immediately driving at the defence with speed then planting a crisp finish into the bottom corner. If you created the archetypal Ndiaye goal, it would look very similar to that. Sheffiled United fans know.

If you love football, you love Ebere Eze.

The first goalkeeper with a player profile in the SCOUTED database is... 24-year-old Joan García of RCD Espanyol and Spain.

This year's UEFA U-17 EURO kicks off next week—so we've picked out some of the prospects that we're excited to watch, prime among them is 15-year-old Max Dowman of Arsenal and England. That, a big summer signing for SCOUTED, and much more in The Shortlist this week.

Thing about that Lamine Yamal goal (for us, anyway) was how quick he was travelling at when taking the shot. Moving at a high speed yet still able to sort his stride, plant his foot and strike the ball perfectly. It reminded us of Arjen Robben.
