Like ultimately we can’t really help you re-experience the joys you felt when you were seeing this stuff for the first time back in the 90s or 2000s.

It is partially a reality that many of us are no longer the young impressionable gamers we used to be and the new younger people coming into the market have very different ideas about how to approach gaming

And the govt is likely going to have to pay more money for many of these contractors

Or they were always going to get the thing anyways and just wanted the attention which is even more cynical

Gameshare can be used to stream multiplayer from switch 2 to switch 1 even if you only have 1 copy of a game

The afghan thing in particular is a bummer because after years of everyone complaining about the “forever war” Biden finally actually got us out and the response was overwhelmingly negative because “it wasn’t done right”

Probably also a case of everyone is busy with SGF at the same time.

Trying to move to some brand new gimmick to redefine the gaming space would likely also mean cutting things like backwards compatibility. Would people actually stomach the cuts that would need to be made for a more innovative device? I doubt it.

Turns out most of the conservatives on the court like making money and that’s impossible to do if Trump keeps imposing 500% tariffs on everyone. Better to take away his toy.

Good chance he blows up the tax bill in the senate because he demands infinite tariff powers

There’s a lot of talk about the “Lando” test which is Lando making a deal with an authoritarian like Darth Vader as if Vader was giving him any actual choice. If he had said no, Vader would’ve just killed him and gotten what he wanted anyways.

It goes back to the underlying thinking from so many on the left that there’s this silent oppressed majority that’s just waiting to sweep the left into power with this One Weird Trick

There was a whole cottage industry of the “Trump voters stick with Trump” during his first term as well. This is nothing new

Nintendo has been including clauses like this since the Wii, the first of their devices to have built in internet functionality

one of my favorite things about SW is when the imperials are having their super evil political meetings and it’s a bunch of British bureaucrats making plans and all of a sudden a giant black armored space wizard barges in does magic to kill a couple of them and pontificates about his space religion.

Years ago Vermont tried to look at doing their own version of single payer healthcare and ultimately everyone balked at the tax increases required on everyone to pay for it. And this is in deep blue Vermont.

Interestingly, 5 of the 10 top titles for the month are from Microsoft. The multi plat pivot is paying off

Also people near retirement age have the time and money to do the legislative work. Legislatures at the state level do not pay a lot in a lot of states

Well there are alternatives for low income folks: like You can play Fortnite forever and not pay a dime for it and it’s on most major devices and platforms.

That chart if anything gets at a more basic problem the industry is facing: an explosion of supply, but demand isn’t really keeping up with that explosion.

In fact the vast majority of games released on Steam tend to be weirdos making a bunch of personal weirdo projects on their own. Only a small number of those games are actually released via traditional publishing.

The problem isn’t what’s written in the constitution. It’s that people in power are decidedly uninterested in exercising powers granted in the constitution.
One political party has completely abdicated its democratic responsibilities.
comment in response to

The term “constitutional crisis” isn’t really what’s happening.
That is when the constitution isn’t clear about something and it creates legitimacy problems.
Here the problems and the solutions are very clearly spelled out in the constitution, people just aren’t interested in fixing it.

Word is they’re only offering the 64GB option for the regular cards. I suspect that has to do with supply issues and that’s the only one they can guarantee to partners atm

I’ve heard the reasoning might be that those games already have unlocked frame rates so no work might be needed on that front.

Fascist regimes would ensure their supporters continue to get govt support and benefits but outside of a handful of sycophants in the inner circle they’ve mostly just been punishing everyone. All sticks no carrot is actually a bad way to consolidate power.

Notably it was recently pointed out that Nintendo has also seen a significant jump in its headcount over the last few years, which likely explains why they’ve pushed increased prices of their products hard for the Switch 2 era.

Let’s not forget too that a small plot beat in the OG Star Wars is the emperor dissolving the Senate as a result of senators like Organa and Mothma now openly encouraging opposition to the Empire.

90% of the time the rewrites were varying degrees of sloppy and silly and mostly didn’t work but you did kind of appreciate that they tried.

There’s something sort of endearing of an EU canon that basically had to retcon and completely rewrite the rules every time the core canon was changed on the whims of its creator who was clearly not involved in the EU and was not going to be held hostage to it. A canon held together with ductape.

Trump’s approvals on the economy are tanking before the effects are even felt. Hard to bullshit your way out of people having higher grocery bills.

2 things can be true: the 30% tariff is still bad and will cause pain and also this at least likely halts a long term supply shock for now.

Yeah I have to wonder what sort of options are available and if this was the best balance of storage and cheapest option for Nintendo.

And also his friend Biggs did enter the academy as well and we learn that Biggs did end up defecting to the Rebels. Would Luke had done the same? Interesting what ifs to ponder

I always took that scene in Star Wars as Luke not really being invested in the conflict and just looking to get off planet by any means necessary even if it meant signing up for the empire
