I have both a regular passport and a passport card. I carry them both with me at all times when I'm traveling. I don't ever plan to apply for a RealID as I don't want my state to have my SSN. I also request that they do not store my photo in their database.

This is the first time I recall ever seeing octopodes suggested as the plural of octopus. It sounded so strange to me that I had to Google it. Considering the pronunciation, I don't think I would ever use it. www.merriam-webster.com/grammar/the-...

Phone book? What's that? I was discussing that this week. It's amazing how the security stance around phone numbers has changed with the migration to cell phones. When I mention the white pages to the new generation (holy moly I'm old) they are flabbergasted.

They don't have patch cords anymore but Telephone Operator jobs still exist. There is still a need in organizations serving older populations used to making phone calls. Mostly healthcare. It amazes me how long it takes old tech to really die. careers-dartmouth-hitchcock.icims.com/jobs/29941/t...

The landing page is still up on the NASA website but all of the profile pages have been removed. The URL on the landing page 404's. Looks like they complied while leaving what they could to make it obvious there used to be more pages there.

Chortles in TI-99/4A at home and PDP-11 in high school. Advantageous growing up near Digital Equipment Corporation.

I tend to believe 99% are people trying to be helpful. Maybe I'm being too optimistic but want to believe.

Holy moly!! Congratulations!!! Really really really hoping this is true. Would love to see Old Man's War on the big screen. This news alone should bring a whole new audience for the story.

One thing that's being missed in the reporting of his death. He was not the CEO of United Health Group (the publicly traded company). He was CEO of United Healthcare, one of their business units.

Hospitals and providers are using current transcription tools. The difference here is the audio is recorded during the patient conversations. The AI processes the audio, creating the medical note in the EMR from specific keywords in the conversation. The software companies call it ambient listening.

The second company using his initials as a stock symbol to go down in flames. Surprisingly no one investing in this schlock learned from the first.

Twitter's current algo drives engagement to those users it decides to promote. Guessing NPR is not one of those users.
