I think many people will be.

Was this the intention of entirely ignoring Mainland during this month of giveaways? LL does realize, do they they not, that Mainlanders are also Members, and ones who are moreover often paying tier fees over and above their membership fees?
If there's a logic to this, it's escaping me.

I wish.
But how many times have we said something like this over the past decade?
And how often has it actually happened?

Wow. I didn't know this had been digitized, yet alone that it was freely available. What a really wonderful thing!

Oh, this wasn't intended to be critical of you -- nor to suggest that you are. Your skeet was just a jumping off point, because I've been struck by how the response to the new US regime is unifying my country (Canada), Europe, and others.
I'm at least a *little* buoyed by how most are responding.

No, the work they do is too important. It's also not clear that the change in public language represents a change in actual policy -- is RAINN still supporting trans people in the field?
But I think it's important to urgently interrogate their reasons for this. How threatened is their funding?

It's possibly worth noting that Coyne is a well-known Canadian conservative commentator. This isn't coming from some frothing-at-the-mouth leftie.
(Frothing-at-the-mouth would instead be me.)

I'm not sure what you mean by "now worthless and reserved for other people."
But you're right that there would be pushback. There is going to be pushback against any move that is made to restrict the "rights" of property owners.
(Sidenote: this is something of an American cultural thing.)

The other option that works for flying (but not for ground traffic) is to zone a corridor 1-2 thousand feet in height above each parcel that must be left clear of security (and preferably skyboxes) so that there is a consistent height at which people can fly. Rather like in Bellisseria now.

They likely don't need to TP next to you to do that. I've had guys comment on my outfit or pose while I was standing on a platform 1500m up and away from them.
I'm as grossed out as anyone by such behavior, but I still think a 0-second orb is an overreaction to what is a pretty rare occurrence.

It would be lovely to think that their idiocy is only going to render them ineffective. I think that in some cases it might well do so -- but the cost to others may be astronomical or fatal.
I'll agree though that incompetent fascists are preferable to capable ones.

Orbs are fine. Drivers do not have a right to drive anywhere they want.
But a 0-second orb is an utterly unnecessary nuclear option that, moreover, hurts the platform and undercuts community.
People who argue from either extremist position have zero credibility in my book.

Maybe they're poor drivers? I have no idea -- but people do complain about this, which they wouldn't were it not happening.
I could ask in reply why a 0-second orb is necessary? Why not 5 or 10 seconds? How does that inconvenience the landowner?

This seems, and actually is, an extremely reasonable idea. The 0-second security orb is, in general, one of the things that things that makes wandering the grid or vehicular travel in SL fraught.
It is, however, surprisingly contentious, and you'll be a LOT of pushback over it from landowners.

Your point about "leaving mainland out of the perks" is good: will mainland once again be the unloved and overlooked child?
These new perks are seriously good, and make membership more attractive. But mainland is also associated with membership, and making it more attractive is also good sense.
comment in response to
post
Wow, wouldn't I kill for that.
It sort of makes sense, too: only members can own mainland, and they do seem to be pushing membership hard right now.

Trump seeks retribution, and apparently so do you.
I'm failing to see a huge difference anymore.
And until there is one, the Dems will just keep on losing, because you no longer stand for anything but winning.
FAFO indeed. Enjoy your irrelevance I guess.

Who is "they"? ALL of them? You're going to say to hell with ALL Muslims, ALL Latinx people, ALL working class people because some didn't vote with you?
Justice is not transactional: it is the right of everyone.
And if you're not interested in pursuing it anymore, your party deserves oblivion.

Possibly the self-indulgent sulking and resort to schadenfreude isn't a great look?
The point of this party is, as I understood it, to pursue justice and alleviate inequity. And you're going to abandon those who need you because you're pissed off you lost?
What is even the point of you anymore?
