This game doesn't feel polished, but art direction is very solid, and that alone was worth it for me

I really love this game and especially that it joins the ever-growing list of Ray tracing in games transforming the image to look so much better

Saw some people say that Idtech8 does what ue5 promised but better, and it is making me go insane because it literally isn't the same? From the video DF did it seems like GI is done via gathering radiance into probes, which is something that Ue5 can also do it just will be lower quality than lumen

Mainly because there is only 3 mainstream game so far that came out with always on RT

Looking at this reflections i'm going to guess the game has HWRT Lumen with no Hit lighting( makes sense it is expensive)

You can do it with most UE5 games that have lumen and DLSS installed by the maker, just drag DLSSD.DLL into Plugins folder alongside dlss

Tbh as 4080s owner aswell it would be great to have these options, it is interesting to see newer ue5 games launching with HWRT lumen turned on by default if you have hardware capable of RT, although some games like post trauma seem to have trouble and i had to manually turn it on via UUU

Hardware lumen does cost fps, not much if you already have SW lumen enabled, but it is about like 20 fps loss for me in game it is included, so perhaps it is sometimes not on for performance reasons?

Funny enough, I made a comment on the mod page about how adding r.lumen.tracemeshsdfs would improve lumen quality, however I now come to see the mod author decided to block me 😠no idea what I did wrong besides say it doesn't add hardware lumen

Great to see that the mod author cut out a bunch of ue5 commands that basically did nothing, and changed the description to longer say it adds hardware lumen support

I'm coping but maybe since talos 1 remake on UE5 does have hardware lumen they could add it into talos 2
