added a quickie on how to integrate #yt-dlp into macos > services to easily be able to download any youtube video on the fly ;)
man i forgot how much i loved automator and how macos lets you integrate it into it. :)

use #betterdisplay to create a group for both montiors, then setup sync settings to have volume for both and also set each's volume profile to be the multi-output device. once you do that, you can use apple volume keys to control volume for both monitors and have a quasi stereo with 2 monitors 🤓

but keep files and logs. rename prefix ea app folder to the game you installed in ea app, re-add game in heroic use prev folder. then to create new game just copy back ea app, add in heroic, launch install game, repeat.

yup.. this has worked on every ea windows game i had in my library! some games still need fixes beyond installing like ME LE needs the splash.bmp files removed or they will block all windows. best way to do this is to make the ea app, copy it somewhere for later, install game. remove game in heroic

HOLY SMOKES!!! i haven't used ffmpeg yet on my M1 Max. compared to my prev win10, intel i5-12500 that would take about 1min 30secs to do a 6gb file. m1 max = 4 secs. FOUR SECONDS!! WTF!!!

oh yea, got it working! time to recreate all my context menu items from win10 on macos. btw this script will extract audio from any video file via ffmpeg as mka and then open it and the source in mkvtoolnix ready for multiplexing. i do this for any e-ac3 or dts only video files, i add an ac3 stream

ahh. mac.. sometimes so easy i overcomplicate things!! trying to launch app, do i use display name or app name? what is app name? oh.. the name thats displyed with .app extension. ha! ok, got it almost all worked out, just a few more test runs on real data.

yea, windows can't do anything like this. apple def does rock in how they do cross ecosystem integration. iphone and ipad integrates pretty dang well with macos once you get it all setup, figure out how it works. 🤯 yup, ipad being an extended monitor is by itself awesome.

omg.. temp got my setup dialed in now (gonna use the 120hz on my main desk), moved dell 24" to my mobile pc standing station and prob moving my tiny pc there too. yup, def miss having a main mac setup. good to be back! crazy i can do four monitors if i want w/ipad, two externals, macbook screen!

or the apple tv app. you can use old itunes app only for all syncing, however if you install any of the newer apple apps for windows (ie apple devices, apple music, apple tv), you then have to use all three. fyi! sadly old itunes feels easier to use just not as pretty.

yea my desktop computing needs have dramatically dropped since im a console gamer and dont do 4k video editing. replaced my 10yr old dell 9020 with a newer Lenovo M90q Gen 3 and love the size, power and expandability for its size.

But in the end, it is us that has moved more than the world that we have done but many and most cannot do. We have sacrificed ourselves for another and in the end, we will be better for it hopefully.

at times we may feel robbed and cheated, but in the end, the satisfaction from what we are doing, makes up for these thoughts and emotions.

i can relate to this problem! went all in on usb-c and then realized i have a ton of older micro-usb devices. doh!! decided to just get some usb-c to microusb adapters.
