It has been brought to my attention that today is the 40th anniversary of the classic sci-fi #anime Megazone 23 (originally released on 3/9/1985)! Here's one Japanese fan's tribute

We're back—and we brought friends! To kick off our Megazone 23 coverage, we enlisted @sean.zimmerit.moe and @sundownmcmoon.bsky.social, two animation experts, to discuss the origins and legacy of this quintessentially '80s OVA (or OAV, if you're of a certain age). Become a patron to listen!

I found a rare variant of Akira Toriyama's Lisa garage kit on Mercari and used it as a springboard to talk about small hobby shops during the garage kit boom years and the ephemeral nature of limited-release kits. New on Zimmerit.moe. bit.ly/toiryama-red...

Time to get caught up with the anime magazines

Mad Max meets mechs for this Japanese ad for Front Mission - released 30 years ago today for Super Famicom. #VideoBytes

www.tumblr.com/oldtypenewty... Oldtype/Newtype hit 100,000 reblogs and currently has 9,600 readers. It' still very active and I haven't posted in 5 years. I have decided to start it back up and expanding on it with the YouTube page as well. Wish me luck. 💯

Join the Network! ⚡ Another lovely timepiece and slice of Anime UK and Steve Kyte illustrations goodness from the 1991 Anime Day con book.

For folks in Canada, www.animecity.ca has copies of the ARTMIC Fan Book in stock and they do mail order.

How it started.... How it's going.... @animeigo.com

I put up the first part of my new short story, Artist of the Akshauhini, online. The whole thing will be available for free! My only ask is that you pass it along if you got something out of it

Just got mine in (and the Gall Force stickers) gets yours!

If anyone has suggestions or contacts with zine/comic shops in Canada or EU that might be interested in our books please shoot me a DM. I’ve been reaching out to places but no luck yet.

I'm still catching up on the orders for these but they're still got in stock. Grab one!

An 'All-out' special for the turbo R in MSX Magazine's November 1990 issue, giving some pomp and ceremony for the final hurrah for the MSX series of computers in Japan. The turbo R should have been quite the beefy little microcomputer, delivering SNES-level games, but was more of an enhanced MSX2+

Just ordered it and the stickers too!! #artmic #アートミック

The image of that cover passed from my eyes to my brain and within a split-second suddenly my hands were possessed -- CLICK, CLICK, CLICK ... and now I have a copy coming my way.

Includes a drawing by yours truly! Grab yours today!

I got my copies of the new Zimmerit Fanzine! One for me, and a few I promised copies to… This one is centered on the animation studio, Artmic. There’s a small article about Macross also. Go check it out! @zimmerit.bsky.social You can get your own copy here: garagekit.club/products/art...
