Best review from Jaden `This book is brilliant! Just as good as Harry Potter - but without the magicʼ. 🤣

I'm curious. How much of that shit lingers in the atmosphere, and is there a risk to life forms on this planet? That ketamine-infused Nazi has a plan to colonize Mars while he kicks the shit out of the only planet that can sustain life in our solar system. That is some serious psychiatric shit.

Those who concentrate on their wealth are probably able to circumvent restrictions on movement ie - buy their way in. (Like moving your business to Dublin for eg). Ironic that they still need the votes of the small people to make the big things happen - so keep them angry enough to harm themselves.

Every person has rights enshrined in ECHR. They are sacrosanct! UK has no such thing. In a country with no Bill of Rights and a system that can add, remove & alter any law on the basis of a single majority vote, the rights of the individual are subservient to the whims of whatever party is in power.

Take your time. 4 years to go before you can judge the success or failure of labour's first gov in 2 decades. Negotiations are ongoing in all areas and will continue. The UK is now a Third Country and we all have to remember that and what in means to Brussels.

I wouldn't say 'negotiating with the eu' per say. I just think that between now and the next GE, there will be movement on trade, security, science, maybe musicians/artists travel. The blocks are free to negotiate anything - just no dilution of 4 freedoms. Not as good as rejoin of course...

Ben was extremely principled and massively influential on the left of the party - ultimately to the party's detriment imo - and was wrong on the EU! Corbyn was cut from the same principled cloth and consequently found it impossible to campaign for remain. Choosing an incomprehensible lexit instead.

Right or wrong, if he calls for another EU referendum absolutely nothing else would get done. It would overshadow everything for at least two years. He has chosen to govern UK as it is while at least negotiating with the EU (which is more than the torys did).

I see a border poll in Ireland within 10 years. That would divide Britain from the EU neatly but probably re-start sectarian violence. The GFA was working but needs more time. Generations. I curse the brexiteers who endangered peace with no plan, no deal, no clue brexit. Financial predators!

Starmer has said no rerun of brexit so choices are either, ignore the EU - which won't happen - or continue chipping away at the status quo. It's far from desirable but the EU won't divide the 4 freedoms (nor should they). Gib deal proves the point. Wait and see what's next. Security? Science?

The CTA with the UK is necessary to keep the British border in Ireland transparent. We cannot join Schengen unless either the UK also does so, or in the future when reunification happens and partition ends.

It's a case of slowly, slowly catch the monkey. A series of bilateral agreements in the coming years - remember the UK will no longer be at the decision table within the EU - just on the receiving end - might be enough to either mitigate the harms of brexit or convince another leader to bring a vote

No, but I do appreciate his dilemma. First, there is no such thing as just FoM. It's four freedoms, or none. FoM is one of the 4. 2nd, if Starmer even hints at rejoining the 4, the rubbish UK press will run it day and night - 24/7/365 - to the absolute destruction of everything else he tries to do.

I'm not overly enamoured of Starmer's performance re EU so far but I still think he's trying to run with the hare while chasing with the hounds. He won't technically undo brexit but he will chip away at the worst effects. Gib, N Ireland, UK accepts EU standards. 4 years from now? EU in all but name.

Absolute nonsense. It'll never happen. This is pure distraction to get media types chasing the white rabbit instead of focusing on 14 yrs of tory failures and Reform's completely shambolic performance in councils around the country. Stop chasing the rabbit Lewis. Expose them for what they are!

When Ireland joined the EMU, they needed to know how much money was in the country. They gave amnisty to people with offshore accounts (illegal in Ireland) to repatriate wealth and tax it fairly at home. Target £60m. Raised £360m. Ran it again following year. Must close tax havens for fair system!

STV PR is a good system. Has its own issues. It doesn't often deliver a single party majority which forces coalition government - sometimes with 3 or 4 parties ie rainbow govs. Can be hard to agree manifesto. PR gives small parties seats in house but not at cabinet if one party wins majority.
