For my own part, I believe much of what is happening in the Middle East has to do with trauma. When you subject populations to enough trauma, this is what can happen. It's as tragic as it is, perhaps, inevitable.

It's looking bleak. But maybe what I'm thinking about is the difference between watching and action. We spent so much time watching the Trump administration. But I would hazard most of that audience spent significantly less time taking action on the Trump administration's policies.

That aligns with how I'm thinking about it. I need to know so I can respond. But I don't need to know everything everyday. As you say, it creates a constant state of anxiety.

That's so interesting! It's almost like prospective futures need a quadrant diagram with axises for technology/nature and inequality/equality. Also, what else a future vision but vibes?

I'd love to hear more about solarpunk's bad rap. But I agree our inability to imagine brighter futures is a problem. It's heard to steer a ship when you can't say where you want to go. And I wonder whether that's part of the problem with leftist politics right now.
