Have reached the point where I am finding the politician reactions to Kneecap more cringe than Kneecap and honestly please can we stop now

To be clear: Tony Blair’s championship of fossil fuels has no connection whatsoever with the very large amounts of money his institute receives from Saudi Arabia …

Would have thought the White House would be excited to show Americans how much money foreigners are paying them... ... unless that's not actually how tariffs work after all 🤔

Moral panics to the left of me Moral panics to the right of me Here I am

I see the grown ups are being all furrowed of brow about “the musics” again Timeless

Great article - You help "left behind" areas by helping the nearest big city. Our problem is the relative economic weakness of our big cities outside London.

The usual dingbats praising and retweeting this But ignoring that the whole reason British culture is “already multi faceted” is precisely because other cultures changed and influenced “British values” It’s not set in stone. Like language You can’t just say “it’s complete. Follow the rules”

Good Morning. The Telegraph's first take.

It was nothing wasn’t it? You learnt nothing? Reads article. Yep. Zilch

Pedro Sánchez and green energy

Fifteen years to the day from Gordon Brown's encounter with Gillian Duffy and it continues to loom far too large in Labour's thinking. Here is Duffy in 2016, mourning the loss of English identity. She thinks we send trillions to the EU, get nothing back, and that we'll all be fine after Brexit. ~AA

Britain does not dictate Irish law. Or Irish feminism. Wrote about the Gender Brexiteers.

"Three to four times as many Labour voters... in the Midlands and northern England are being tempted by the Lib Dems as those classed as Reform-curious... The party’s left flank is seething with discontent but gets less attention as MPs and apparatchiks obsess over Farage" www.ft.com/content/deb2...

look you know I rarely have a good word to say about the political press in America but lets not excuse the voters themselves here.

Whatever opinion you do have about the current state of debate and law about gender in the U.K., I would hope all of you realise that “suppressing data on the suicides his policies are causing” is a conspiracy theory with no basis in reality. Coroners, y’know, exist.

I feel like I’m losing my mind with the lack of wall to wall coverage on disappearing *children with cancer* i keep saying this, but it’s not 5% of the uproar that came from Biden’s debate. “kids peeing in litter boxes”, a thing that never happened, got orders of magnitude more coverage.

Oh I think there was a message in there somewhere

Fact-check: no they won’t, no they aren’t, no it won’t and no it isn’t.

Yeah. Not the best message to relaunch observer under new ownership And it’s not wether you are for or against the message. The message is not withinin U.K. ‘s gift to in any way influence/deliver and just ends up looking like sore, deranged losers

Could you ever have imagined you would see a headline like this in your lifetime

A lot of the views of various officials in this piece reminds me of @williamcb.bsky.social’s essay about how these people don’t really understand AI - it’s just a catch-all term to position themselves as representing the future

Glorious from @arseblog.com

A few hours after an AP became the first big poll with Trump's approval rating under 40%, WaPo released the second, with his approval also at 39%. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

My main takeaway from reading the Sunday papers is that Adults have lost their freaking minds about mobile phones and this is close to full on moral-panic territory The endless stories feed each other

Looks like a West Midlands CID copper in the 1970s about to fit up a bunch of Irish lads after ten pints at lunch and a jar of pickled onions

Interesting. German Intelligence have just arrested two suspected Russia spies, they had US Sec Defence Hegseth's private phone number in their mobiles. (Der Speigel)

Fascism is a lot of things, but at heart it's the political application of being a dumb asshole

Love it

“I could play with myself at the Pope’s funeral and not lose a single vote.”

I promise you I’m a faithful.

MAGA(particularly MTG) are quietly celebrating the death of Pope Francis, who reminded them what is actually expected of them as Christians. They don’t worship Christ, they worship Trump. Just wait until he dies and they see the public reaction to that. youtu.be/OdM4O7nzako?...

Surprised to find the UK wastes ‘£1,4’ billion on ‘Benefit overppaid’, £60 billion on ‘Corporatie price gouging’, and £30 ‘bilion’ on ‘Prezatised utility & service dividends’. Although I’d probably focus on not using error-strewn AI-gen infographics for political comms.

And that’s before people like this think they have ANYTHING in common with coutts customer, merchant banker Nige. Commoner my arse

What sane, even vaguely intelligent human considers themselves a “commoner” The brits and their relationship with the royals and the systems they claim to despise are weird weird weird

I think the responses give tenants a bad name. I’ve rented many a year and regardless of contract, if I have a garden, I’m in the house it behoves me to treat it as my own Grows up and just keep on top of the garden ya babies www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle...

Left: President Trump at Pope Francis's funeral Right: Pope Francis saying Donald Trump isn't Christian because he thinks of building walls not bridges, followed by Trump calling Pope Francis disgraceful
