I'll bow out here but I think we can have empathy for people who voted for him *and* those who didn't. Have a good day :)

If you read that article, it's pretty clear that she saw Trump say he was gonna make IVF free. Obviously, those of us who follow the news every day know that's a lie. But most people don't and it makes sense to me that she saw that and clung to it. People do crazy shit when they're desperate (more)

No worries. I just think it’s a mistake to assume that all 77.3M people voted for Trump because they hate minorities or love fascism, etc. Everyone’s got different reasons for voting the way they did and it feels counterproductive to me to assume that everyone who voted for him is irredeemable.

I get that. She was 16 at the start of his first term though, so I guess it’s fair to wonder how much of this she was paying attention to the first time. Whatever the case, it just all sucks.

Maybe I’m just naïve/a mark, but I came away from that story feeling really bad for her. I just think she got conned by a con-man. Hopefully she realizes that now.

these replies are... frustrating. I thought the whole point of being liberal/left is that we care about others, even when those people do things we don't like.

this and also people on bluesky seem to take things/themselves wayyyy more seriously than people on twitter, for example.

she’s not a Republican mile; she’s been a dem hanger-on for a while and only pivoted after the election. this kinda explains her whole deal. www.yahoo.com/news/curious...

did you previously follow @potus before? if so, Zuckerberg didn’t force you to do anything. it’s just that @potus switched from Biden to Trump. Same thing happened after the first Trump term.

I would think you would’ve had a Seattle dog before since there’s so many hot dog stands right outside the Seahawks stadium (where you’ve been to many games. As a fan.)

Pushing this for anyone to see. Felix's first 12 seasons vs. Koufax's career (12 seasons). Both broke into the league at 19. Not saying they are equivalent, but close enough for Felix to get serious consideration.
