“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

This is just Nazism, I'm sorry to be so tedious and repetitive, but this kind of bowdlerized Nietzscheanism for popular audience can really have no other name

He thinks transgenic mice are transgender. That asylum seekers come from mental asylums. That exporters pay import tariffs. That contraception in Gaza province, Mozambique means giving condoms to Hamas. The most stupid human ever to hold any political office, anywhere. Root for the meteor.

It's been evident that Musk/Trump/DOGE are trying to make federal workers as miserable as possible as they're forced to return to working in person. Someone in a fed agency shared these bullet points they received about upcoming changes to the office setup. "Chairs are limited."

Musk states "the fundamental weakness of Western civilization is empathy". Charles Darwin, who actually researched this stuff, showed it was empathy, specifically, that enabled humanity to flourish.

tired of people treating trump like he is anything other than an ego-driven simpleton (i wrote this, this is a piece about why he is nothing more than an ego driven simpleton.)

I think this misses the math. He's abandoning Europe to Putin and wants to act like Putin in North and South America.

“I hope, Senator, after you've lost, and the Empire reigns over the galaxy unopposed, you will find some comfort in the knowledge that you fought according to the rules.” — Saw Gerrera

#OneWorld

The biggest threat to European security does not come from Russia but it comes from the far right within its own nation states. All of the defense spending is not going to protect anyone if Trump's and Putin's buddies are voted into office, they consolidate power and erode liberal democracy 1/

“Anyone who still views Musk’s project to be about improving government efficiency or modernizing government technology or eliminating waste, fraud, and abuse is not playing with a full deck. This is a land grab.” www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

This is the correct approach to Trump’s derangement and insider threats. I hope European allies grappling with how to respond to Trump’s betrayal of Ukraine adopt a similar one. www.offmessage.net/p/a-cheat-sh...

The grift continues: Trump is charging $1M to attend candlelight dinners at Mar-a-Lago and if you want a one-on-one meeting, get ready to hand over $5M Scoop from @leahfeiger.bsky.social @lmatsakis.bsky.social and @jakelahut.writes.news www.wired.com/story/people...

Me: I can’t believe UK voters chose to torch their economy with Brexit. That can never be topped. American voters:

"I regret that vote" will be a defining quote for this zeitgeist

The headlines SHOULD say something along the lines of: For second time, Trump violates the law to help Putin, this time in bid to end democracy.

No one in DC can bargain in good faith with Trump because he will not follow laws passed by Congress. No one internationally can bargain in good faith with Trump because he will not respect agreements made by the United States. Being a counterparty just makes you a target for another shakedown.

🚨 “Zelensky wants to play tough, but you know what? He’s not even in the game. Putin, Trump, and people on our side will decide Ukraine’s future.” U.S. Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville. Prioritizing Trump’s personal victory over a sovereign Ukraine which was attacked and invaded. Disgusting.

La nausée.

🚨 Trump has “paused” all U.S. military aid to Ukraine, including weapons in transit through Poland, per Bloomberg. The White House confirmed the decision, proving that the U.S. has become a treacherous so-called ally, completely caving to Russia. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Checking in on the latest production of the Fox News Extended Universe.

Putin’s regime are the Nazis of the 21st century. It should therefore surprise no-one that Elon Musk supports them and blames their victims for being murdered, tortured and raped. Hell awaits.

@willbunch.bsky.social

good piece.

This was the end goal of crypto aligning behind Trump - the crypto economy has very few actual dollars in it and relies on finding new people to hold the bag to get their dollars. The US government is the ultimate bag holder and they’re going to use your tax dollars to bail out crypto owners.

Let’s see, Donald Trump launched his crypto business right before taking office. Melania did the day before the inauguration. Junior launched a new one too. Oh, and of course Eric did.

🚨 BREAKING: This is beyond outrageous. Elon Musk, his cranky mother Maye, and one of his young kids were chauffeured in Air Force One and Marine One—straight to the White House, where they’re apparently staying. WTF is going on? It goes without saying, this is not normal. 🙄

I, for one, don’t doubt the sincerity of Trump supporters’ views regarding the importance of respectful attire in federal buildings.

Individual steps towards autocracy can seem petty and personal. But their significance goes beyond that. Retaliation or retribution against one individual or institution is a way to intimidate many others. It’s a way to induce much broader compliance.

Can confirm. Former USAID here, and I’ve been approached twice in the last 30 days.

Zelensky taking a hard line right now is EXACTLY what the world needs. Call out their lies, hold them accountable, speak in simple terms, and hold strong.

Bonjour. Edition "on hallucine". 1/..

Garry Kasparov is right, I’m afraid: they are breaking everything so quickly even though it’s unpopular, because they never expect to face real elections again. www.theatlantic.com/internationa...
