I still don’t have my drivers license lol but I also live in a city with decent public transit so ive been able to get around ok BUT I still wish I passed all my tests when I still had my mom’s car to drive lol tbh ur already KILLING IT since u already have a plan & are working on it!

u can like vaccination records, birth certificates, any kind of doctors notes ur parents may have. Then even if everything works out well then hey you conveniently already have all of your documents handy for when u need them! Also cant stress enough how important having a support network first is

of course my experience was very much “your mileage may vary” but having all of my bills, leases, and insurance in my name made it much less stressful for when I was suddenly on my own, bc there was nothing my family could do to reign me back in, so to be safe I’d grab any important paperwork-cont.

i wasn’t disowned bc of my queerness but I did have to suddenly go no contact with my remaining blood family after a traumatic incident; what really helped me settle afterwards was already having a lot of my independence squared away so my family had little control over me when i had to cut them out
