Punk This Week returns with @see-saw.fun and we're talking about: - noisy chicago punk - melodic d-beat from scotland - confrontational nyc hardcore - screamo from someone whose output is frankly intimidating - and more

new MSPAINT record just got announced with a lead single convulserecords.bandcamp.com/album/no-sep...

yo where are ALL HITS these days, this album is severely underrated

A total honor to run this boots-on-the-ground piece by Armering's Erik Egenes about the explosion of punk activity in Norway’s largest cities post-COVID lockdown. Some great interviews + photos + Erik made a comprehensive playlist.

in anticipation of tomorrow's see/saw feature, please enjoy this record by Psykostat psykostat.bandcamp.com/album/psykos...

part of me thinks anybody with this amount of money should be spreading it across the entire planet to make people’s lives easier, but then again I do understand that it’s very fulfilling to be the first big boy to wear rocket pants to the top of everest www.wsj.com/economy/1-tr...

you like PUNK THIS WEEK, the podcast from @ninacorcoran.bsky.social and I? great news: we've got a new monthly bonus podcast! subscribe to see/saw (there's a two-week free trial) for the inaugural episode with @danozzi.bsky.social! a new guest every month, 3 of us curating a mythical punk jukebox ⚡

ding dong: the weekly see/saw recs column PUNK THIS WEEK returns and it's a damn doozy. Sex Germs! Kaleidoscope! ELVIS 2! PISS ME OFF!!! read all about it for just $4/month on SEE HYPHEN SAW DOT FUN!

would love a good contemporary communist read right now

always gonna root for my friends who are lucky enough to keep doing it at the highest level. I have no energy for contempt. see/saw is just an explosion of creativity around the music that excites me the most. a dream come true. shout out anyone siphoning billionaires’ wealth with a union contract

I’ve been lucky enough to be interviewed a couple times in the past year. sometimes there’s this tone in the piece that suggests contempt on my part toward p4k. one real vanity headline: “PITCH THIS!” my ordeal cemented a distrust of the rich, but what I do now isn’t a reaction to my old workplace

a true quality of life difference maker is listening to loud punk music regularly—to feel shaken up and moved to your feet in the gaze of a frontperson screaming with the wild eyes of satan herself. if you enjoy this feeling the way I do, take my hand. subscribe to see-saw.fun for FREE

an absolute giant who left the world an unbelievable body of work, RIP Pere Ubu’s David Thomas

buy your friend’s book twice, read one and give the other as a gift buy your friend’s tape twice, keep one and give the other as a gift buy two pieces of art from your friend, keep one and give the other as a gift spread someone’s legend rn however you can

the 30th episode of PUNK THIS WEEK with @ninacorcoran.bsky.social includes some chat about John Dwyer impossibly releasing a career highlight this past week, some killer new bands, and of course, soft pretzels

the closest thing I do to breaking news right now is dropping bandcamp links into the new-punk-chat channel of the see/saw discord

judas priest but it's the kids from family circus

I wrote about 30 new punk records that just came out in the see/saw column PUNK THIS WEEK. Some are by brand new bands making astonishing debuts, some are veterans coming back with incredible new work. A public service. Dive deep with me. Subscribe to see-saw.fun 💝 see-saw.fun/punk-this-we...

I got a “real job” earlier this year, contract work that’s got me financially comfortable for a little bit. that + stay-at-home parenting means I’m working on see/saw at night, staying up making radio, editing podcasts, and writing. how do I do it all??? That’s right: NAPS 🙂‍↕️ see-saw.fun

wrote about my quest to escape the algorithms and get back to finding new music via human recs only, with some excellent advice from @cushac.bsky.social of @hearingthingsco.bsky.social, who's also had enough of the streaming economy nygroove.nyc/enough-is-en...

thinking again about the ripple effect explosion of hardcore, punk, and rock'n'roll bands that cropped up in the years after the initial covid lockdown

maybe song of the year for me so far, how do the number ones still exist and still have the sauce thenumberones.bandcamp.com/album/sorry

the PUNK THIS WEEK pod returns with discussions of some killer new records, an unhinged snacks manifesto by the great Science Man, some talk about the year 1 parties, and more, go listen to FUGITIVE BUBBLE and TEO WISE and STERÖID see-saw.fun/punk-this-we...

somewhere in Winchester, Virginia, Power Pants’ recording rig is constantly at the ready, which is why there’s been a flood of Power Pants songs since the project started in 2023. now on see/saw, Tim Abbondelo chats with Dee from Power Pants before a show in DC. see-saw.fun/power-pants-...

I made this hour of radio bc my 2.5-yr-old child loves grabbing my microphone and saying “see/saw radio this is Evan Minsker and I’m a bumblebee,” so here ya go, a party time dancin rocknroll punk mix for kids 🐝 www.mixcloud.com/evanminsker/...

taking a week off from the punk column. see/saw's back in full swing next week with a feature, a pod, and a column. for now, some quick-hit recommendations of new punk records and a few words about the three year 1 parties that I threw. see-saw.fun/on-see-saws-...

throw your blog a party

PUNK THIS WEEK pod is off this week, back next week. BUT! was tickled to have been invited onto @tmgtpod.bsky.social to talk about Dinosaur Jr. (through the lens of their 1990s not-original-recipe-lineup TV appearances). discussed: hot Murph, Paul Shaffer's chimes, Jenny Jones, and Judgment Night

some great photos from the party on Saturday. I haven’t figured out how to adequately address how special these past couple weeks have been, but here’s a pic of Judy and the Jerks surprise-pulling me onstage to sing happy birthday to see/saw www.reviler.org/2025/04/06/p...

Another great pick from the good folks at @see-saw.fun

the NUMBER ONES are back and they’ve still got it; a loaded installment of the venerated contemporary punk recommendations column PUNK THIS WEEK see-saw.fun/punk-this-we...

safe DIY spaces for punks are getting disappeared in Minneapolis thank to government and capitalist interests. the best thing about that punk scene are the basements, houses, and spaces not governed by a strict sense of capitalism. notaflof + all ages spots forever. fuck landlords and cops.

I voted in Wisconsin, and if you live in Wisconsin, you gotta get out there and do the same myvote.wi.gov/en-us/Find-M...
