Concord Casimir, Cleveland's pierogi-eating, weather-predicting cat, forecasts messy end to winter www.clevescene.com/news/concord...

If it were up to me alone, I might eat poached eggs on toast every single night. This would a) enrage my children, who don't know what's good and b) drive us into the poorhouse, apparently.

One of the small-but-infuriating injustices in the world is that the UK gets the whole of Season 3 US Traitors, while we are getting it dripped to us a week at a time. AND, we don't have Season 3 UK. Why should they have all the nice things?

Just finished Inside Man with Stanley Tucci and David Tennant. a) I require a season two. b) I need about 10 minutes of cat videos before I can breathe again.

CCS parents, did you get a text or email today about school closings? I got a robocall, but not the expected communications.

I have made one million meatballs today...wait...gulp...999,999.

Every time I read Kelly Link I just want to read every sentence again for the first time. Friends, she is so very good.

I need all of you who have gone back to work for the next two days to keep it down, please. Guilt and anxiety don't go well with cheese, cookies, and sloth.

I can't remember which of you brilliant people mentioned watching The Hogsfather, but it's wonderful and possibly a new tradition.

Love when a morning "discussion" with husband about Willow Rosenberg and The Magicians involves husband bellowing "Number ONE..." and then pontificating...

I hope Mister Rogers and Raymond Carver have found one another, wherever they are. Late Fragment, Raymond Carver And did you get what you wanted from this life, even so? I did. And what did you want? To call myself beloved, to feel myself beloved on the earth.

My child says "helicopter" like he learned to pronounce it from the helikopter, helikopter meme song. That's fine, right? www.youtube.com/watch?v=a0Db...

I'm 11 books behind my 2024 goodreads reading challenge goal. I'm going to make it. Right? Right?

Still riding the high of snuggling capybaras on Saturday. You can also snuggle otters—the only animal on the farm the capybaras don’t like.

Nekojima: a very cute jenga-like game where you build power lines and hang cats on them without creating shorts or bring down the wires for the whole island. We had an unreliable advisor.

Have we agreed on a term to call these hazy days between boisterous holidays? Some options to consider: * Holiday Valley * Christmas Trough * Liminal Winter * The Betwixtening * The Five Days of Cheese Thoughts?

visit cleveland.

I honestly don't know if this is brilliant or if I regret having eyes with which to see it. Tomato, tomato.

The best part of being an adult with a ginormous holiday ham is the ability to snack on cold ham at any time, in any amount, for any reason. Period.

Watching Merry Little Batman is now a tradition, apparently. Like Home Alone, but with better music.

The best Christmas decoration in all our Metro Parks.

"If your house isn’t scrubbed clean and you haven’t finished spinning all your flax by Twelfth Night..., she may slit your belly open, rip out your innards, and stuff you with straw, rocks, and bits of glass. She also disembowels lazy children." What, women can't have hobbies now?

This is the first year where no one in the house even superstitiously pretends to believe in Santa.

Watching Emmett Otter's Jug Band Christmas, which is as important to holiday traditions as mashed potatoes.

Just read about this in @bengazur.bsky.social 's A Feast of Folklore. Wonderful to have a photo!

Amazon does not sell Christmas crackers that snap. Why EVEN bother? Are we that desperate for paper crowns and weird metal tchotchkes?

And the Lord spoke, saying "Forest Green is the bestest version of 'O Little Town' and thou shalt have no other versions before it." The people heard it and heard it was good.
