“This week, I mostly played golf - beautiful golf, Bigly golf - and have press conferences where I didn’t at all make an ass of myself and chat utter drivel”
comment in response to post
It’s also likely illegal - not that Moron number one and President Musk care. It’s more performative cruelty from an administration that knows little else (bar corruption and cosying up to Mad Vlad, obviously)
comment in response to post
Wouldn’t be an NCFC win at the Carra without that mix of fun, goals, good play and comedic defending. It’s like the players think “this is going really well - let’s make it interesting by shooting ourselves in both feet”
comment in response to post
That is a mad stat. Explains a lot though (and the multiple top three combos too)

I omitted plenty for legal reasons. A mate of mine was a smaller supplier of dj gear and he lost a fair bit. Think I went once too (2000s likely) and did get some decent records
comment in response to post
100%. When they went bust/into admin, a lot of the DJ equipment stock “mysteriously” went missing before suppliers could collect. They owed Pioneer (for one) an insane amount of money. The founder/owner was well shady!

God knows - making Man Utd temporarily look marginally less shit for a few weeks I suspect. Leicester really do look woeful - Saints are doomed but have at least looked a big better of late

You’ll be fine. As you say, squeaky bum time for Wolves though! Traditionally we have almost as little time for them as Ipswich (long story) so I wouldn’t be gutted if they dropped (plus no derbies next year = another year on our ongoing 15 year not losing in the derby record!)

Then Fagash Fuhrer was probably Sieg-Heil-ing along backstage

Well, I remember another team who “played quite well” and even beat Man City but still got relegated (sadly). They do have a bit about them and work very hard, just flaky defensively. We’ll see!
comment in response to post
Well, as you know I am biased/have yellow and green specs, but Ipswich look like an overpromoted league one side with a few top champs/lower PL players (and Delap, who will end up at a bigger PL club)
comment in response to post
And Ipswich!
comment in response to post
Quite possibly. Looks horrible now in hindsight - I stumbled on a repeat the other night. Not good

In all seriousness, I bet the writers and producers of the Simpsons are regretting that season 26 episode they did where they blew smoke up Musk’s backside and called him “the world’s greatest living inventor” (itself a laughable claim)
comment in response to post
Looking forward to Musk being sent packing back to his home planet

Checks out. I mean, Bannon looks like he’s never had a bath or shower in his life
comment in response to post
Well, wouldn’t it technically a few people who were spending a lot of money spending a bit more? Aside from parents of new pupils, they would have been spending that already (minus the additional VAT). I’m sure it is logical and thought through, whatever I think

Given that just 7% (or thereabouts) are privately educated, it still seems odd to include it in the “basket of goods” - I always assumed they were things that a much higher percentage of people/average Britons bought/paid for
comment in response to post
The impression I get is that they are quite sorted behind the scenes but Steve Lansdown won’t put more money in for players etc. I am not an expert though - just what various season ticket holders I know tell me
comment in response to post
This is of course assuming i don’t get overexcited and end up with a four-hour recording which gets progressively madder and wilder as it goes along (it has happened before 😂)
comment in response to post
In my case, not really 😂 That said I do plan to record a mix after spending weeks investigating dusty, forgotten corners of the record collection.
comment in response to post
I have been saying to my housemate (a Bristol City season ticket holder) for months that us and them are locked in a a battle to become the most midtable team in the champs. This season I am fine with that - him less so as that’s pretty much every season for them!

Gaslighting is probably the answer (“Donald Trump? Never heard of him. I always like Zelensky!”). That or saying sod all while pointing at dinghies in the Channel

True! I enjoyed the Orkney Ales I had over here. As I said, I need to go back. Also, I found the ring of Brodgar far more mystical and moving than Stonehenge.

The seafood really is good - most caught locally of course. On Westray there’s a fish merchant by the docks that opens a fish and chip shop an evening or two a week. Was open while I was there… best fried and battered fish I’ve had! From fishing boat to fryer in a few hundred metres.

In fact I was so inspired that I did this DJ mix - a kind of imaginary musical journey around the Isles featuring plenty of music made by locals or inspired by the place soundcloud.com/sellbydave/a...
comment in response to post
It really is amazing, isn’t it? I went a few years ago for a week and was blown away by the islands (and Scapa whisky - I’d had Highland Park before but not Scapa). Such a magical place. My “moment” came when I walked across Westray to Noup Head lighthouse. Felt like I was at the edge of the world

I’m not standing up for him - as clearly stated, he’s a colossal tool and needs frequently calling out (as you have done for a long time) I’m also not trying to get into a “battle”. Someone can be an arsehole whose bullshit was also enabled and amplified by others. That was my cack-handed point
comment in response to post
No, he’s an arseheole, roast away - it was just pointing out that for all of his many wrongs, the claiming credit/Ibiza origin myth stuff was not just him as you know and have discussed before. Do you really think I would want you to be nice to him? He’s a deeply unpleasant individual
comment in response to post
That’s a bit harsh. Yes, it was mainly him, but also journalists and authors who should know better… and Oakenfold, the “us and our pals from that London did everything first” crowd, decades of documentary makers, the BBC etc etc
comment in response to post
His ample behind has so many splinters in it from fence-sitting it looks like a pincushion. I assume he wrote two tweets and took several days to decide which to post

Ideally while Musk, Vance, Johnson (the US one, not de Pfeffel, though that would be a nice bonus) and the rest of Trump’s horrendous family are also in there
comment in response to post
Bit rich from Trump, who was elected but since taking office again has started dismantling the US government, sidestepped congress and ruled by executive order - IE exactly as a dictator would do. He’s even more of a danger to the world than bloody Putin (and he’s a bloodthirsty war criminal!)
comment in response to post
Maybe we’ll get a Face/Off moment at some point, where midway through a press briefing Trump rips off his ugly mug and it is revealed that he was in fact Putin all along

Jeffries appears to have studied at the Alexander “Boris” Johnson school of political insults. You know you’re in trouble when you’re aping that nefarious and barely competent cretin
comment in response to post
Excellent - I’ll send him that!
comment in response to post
Yes, but it makes sense when you think of them as tedious old Tory bores who live in big houses in the country. Got to keep the wealthy NIMBYs happy - they are happy for poorer people to be surrounded by furnaces and factories belching poisonous smoke as long as they themselves have “nice views”

Was watching last night with my mum and predicted the two late goals. Farke’s NCFC side were masters of it in the two promotion seasons. Keep the faith!

Nice! I have bought him a few jerseys (mostly retro ones so he can pretend he’s one of the greats of the 60s and 70s 😂) so maybe it is time to get him an AHCC one
comment in response to post
I’ll also tell my brother to look out for AHCC jerseys in Leicestershire when he’s out on rides!

Nice! I’ll wave at you (from a distance) when I head back down the M1 with him later (currently in Sheffield) 😁

I know it well! My nephew lives in Leicester so I pass it every time I go to see him, his sister, my brother and sister in law 😁

To be fair he does call me Uncle Hat a lot (but then with a bald bonce hats are often required), as well as Uncle Chat (also fair - I do talk a lot!)
