Imagine putting your literal life on the line for your country, and then have your country tell you that you're scum and that it hates you. Man. I dunno.

You're the target now. But the good news is, you aren't alone. They hate a fuckload of us.

Oh, our Ivanovs will give the order. The question is whether the soldiers will follow it. They aren't robots like a lot of people think, though fascism has become a real issue in certain branches and units.

Thinking back to the halcyon days of comparably strong-willed and decent military leaders like... Mark Esper? Jesus fuck, that's bleak.

Oh, I'm plenty okay with having some flags being off limits, but none of the ones I'm seeing people bitch about are among them.

There's definitely flags that I am very against people waving, but the idea that only the United States is a nation built on an idea is risible.

If people want to wave the US flag, fine. As long as they're opposed to Trump. But don't throw stones at people who are justifiably disgusted with this country and it's history, both long ago and very recent, and therefore fly a different flag.

It is 2400 BCE. Sargon of Akkad has managed to create the world's first empire in Mesopotamia. He is exhausted from hearing about the Israeli-Palestinian crisis, which has been going on for 1600 years so far.

Hard disagree. Someone who will actively betray the people I care about to fascists for petty gain is a far worse ally than one who will stand by when it happens out of weakness.

Israel has lodged themselves into a no-win situation on the international stage. They can get their genocide, but there's a lot of good people that are going to make it cost them.

I hate those winters. But I like getting from point A to point B in less than 45 minutes. I like walking places! I like not paying $20,000 a year in rent for a cardboard box.

And by that I mean cities in those regions. My loved ones don't live in the cities, and I'm not going to move far away again without good reason. But I'd be lying if I said places like Chicago and Philadelphia didn't hold some appeal to me.

Insanely well deserved.
