I’m old enough to remember when Republicans believed in states’ rights www.nytimes.com/2025/04/25/u...

Really need journalists to push back on this bullshit. When they say this, just ask them point blank: "Are you saying that because one Latino man committed a murder, another Latino man deserves a life sentence? Do you think all Latino men interchangeable?"

Good morning✌️🍀

PSA: I’m begging you—read through every contract before you sign. You don’t need to be a lawyer to spot predatory clauses. If something feels off, don’t sign without edits. 🧵/x

My brain right now: “This is not normal 🎶Steve le🎶 The crisis is here 🎶le poisson Steve le🎶 the constitution itself is under threat 🎶poisoooon steeEeEEeve🎶 we will resist together or apart but we will resist.

I am once again begging my fellow Americans to actually read the article instead of smashing forward with your commentary based on the headline alone. We need informed outrage, not mindless panic. Only one of those is productive.

Cory Booker just gave the longest speech in the history of Congress and concluded by apologizing to everyone who had to stay up all night keeping the chamber open and operating.

I got 1,000 words of writing out last night (more than I’ve written in the last six months combined), and the urge to write instead of work is strong on this gloomy Monday.

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.

It felt strangely warm to see this quote in #EverythingIsTuberculosis. It was first (and second, third) read to me by @johngreensbluesky.bsky.social, and I consider it one of the classically beloved Nerdfighter literary quotes. I love Nerdfighteria.

The word deadpanned appears exactly once in all of my books--except for Looking for Alaska, where it appears approximately 250,000 times. I write one into every book as an in-joke with my editor Julie Strauss-Gabel, who tried to get me to cut some of those LFA deadpans 20+ years ago.

My only job today is to stay awake until 8pm. That’s it.

How am I feeling? It's summed up in this conversation with @madhupai.bsky.social: "I think hope is the correct response to the miracle of human consciousness. I am concerned (and discouraged) in the face of our historical moment. But I refuse to respond with despair." www.forbes.com/sites/madhuk...
