Noting that I'll be scouting for potential future books etc. for @fieldmouse.press and I like comics and want to read good comics

The reader's dilemma. One day we all will be smothered by a falling TBR pile

there should be an annual mini-comics award with each winner getting 5k. at the final ceremony we celebrate by burning the fucking things in a bonfire so we don’t have to figure how to store them anymore.

I won't ever turn down a good Americano, and it absolutely does 😊

I'll be there, with all the new stuff in tow!

Obviously I'm not printer/technician with all of the technical knowhow, and those folks are worth their weight in gold, but coming from a publisher's side of the equation, I've learned a lot over the last 4-5 years.

Yeah, that's standard practice in my experience. Print Ninja's digital print operations will only let you go up to 500; higher than that and they send your work to an offsite printer, generally in China. (FWIW, I haven't heard very good things about the quality of PrintNinja's low count printing)

They probably won't unless you ask specifically. 500 is right there on the borderline, some printers will do digital and some will do offset.

Generally speaking, the more books you print, the cheaper they become per unit. For offset specifically, setting up the plates is your largest cost, and the total cost to run off another 500 books is miniscule in comparison to that initial fee.

Would you be able to travel just by folding the map? No more airplanes, speed trains or freeways? There'd be no distance that could hold you back.

There are two wolves inside of you, the one that blocks Carl in Bluesky and the one that gets hit by tomato pulp at a comics reading

That's an insane take, Schulz did some amazing work in the 80s

This is the sad thing, even the cruller tastes like wax now. I used to get a cake donut, then switched to crullers

Yeah I agree with this, I think the oil they started using in the last 3-4 years makes them taste waxy. The coffee is reasonable, but that's about it
