A horrible story but god bless this woman so accurately reading the ICE goons for filth here

Two former Wells Fargo executives were fined $8.5M by the Biden administration for covering up the bank's infamous fake account scandal. Trump just slashed those fines to a paltry $150,000 after Wells Fargo gave $1M to his inauguration. See how this works?

Jamie Dimon says the *best case* scenario for the US is now a recession. Cool, cool. From the best economy in the world to a self-inflicted recession in 4 months. Gotta be some kind of record.

📌Hold on, goddammit: If tariffs are so good for our economy, why doesn't the White House want us to see what they are actually costing us??????

TELSEY begins tracking price increases over the past week. Some highlights: * Abercrombie jeans: up 33% * Amazon Echo: up 38.5% * Target / Barbie doll: up 42.9%

"US stocks have underperformed the rest of the world this year by the widest margin in more than three decades as Donald Trump’s erratic policymaking sparks an investor exodus from American assets..." www.ft.com/content/f3a7...

If you think a just-fertilized ovary is entitled to life but are indifferent to what happens to a kidnapped 4-year-old with cancer, sent to a dangerous country without meds, you don’t give a fuck about the lives of children. You are just in a cult that fetishizes being against abortions.

Bash: 64% of Americans disapprove of Trump’s handling of inflation, 65% disapprove of his handling of tariffs, 61% disapprove of his overall handling of the economy. On immigration, 53% disapprove as well

Given the literal definition of deportation is removing a foreigner or noncitizen from the country, we - journalists, media orgs - should probably all stop referring to the ‘deportation’ of a 2 year old US citizen. It’s NOT a deportation. I’m not sure what it is. A kidnapping?

Me too.

This enigmatic process appears to be controlled by the thalamus, a central region of the brain already known for its function as a filter between sensory signals and the cerebral cortex.

If you’re attending the White House Correspondents Association dinner tonight, be sure to come prepared with a joke about the toddler cancer patient they just disappeared despite her being a citizen. Otherwise it’s going to be awkward when you’re mugging for photos with Stephen Miller.

I’m old enough to remember when Republicans believed in states’ rights www.nytimes.com/2025/04/25/u...

So to sum up the Wisconsin arrest issue: ICE didn't have a juridical warrant. They only had an administrative warrant. The DOJ has not convened a grand jury to indict the judge. They only got a criminal complaint before a magistrate judge. This is ridiculous.

Commerce Department employees caught up in a legal battle over their mass firings are now learning that their health care coverage was cut off weeks ago, even though they were paying their premiums.

"The most brazenly corrupt thing a President has ever done. Not close.” www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2...

recent polling is just a total repudiation of the idea that full spectrum opposition to trump across every area was/is a bad idea

This criminal complaint seems pretty thin on the statutes charged. She allowed the defendant to leave the courtroom by a different door in her courtroom. The arresting agents literally saw him in the hallway right after going to elevator 1/

Developing: George’s multiple personalities have left the building.

FBI arrests Wisconsin judge and accuses her of obstructing immigration officials

What did Doggie doo? Looks like not much but destruction. No surprise.

Newsom: In 2023, Californians contributed $83.1 billion more to the federal government than we received back. And for your viewers: that other state—Texas—took $71.1 billion more than it contributed to the federal government. California: $83 billion, contributor. Texas: taker.

“Pontius Pilot is a very good governor. Very tough. Not an easy province. Judaea! Lot of crime. Bad stuff… but great beaches! He’s cleaning it right up, though! Putting in hotels and mangers… One tough hombre... Crucified criminals! Nails right through their hands!”

I’ve had toxic relationships but holy smokes www.dannydutch.com/post/the-obs...

President Donald Trump has directed his attorney general to investigate fundraising platforms such as ActBlue, the central fundraising apparatus of the Democratic Party — escalating his effort to use his powers to target his political opponents and the core machinery of the opposition party.

Let's wake up. He's REALLY unpopular for this early in a term or really ever. President's this unpopular are already losing. Power becomes harder to assert when your power is fading.

Bluesky is collegial and interesting, the way Twitter used to be. Bonus: most people can spell.

If we’re serious about more efficient government and better everyday life in America - which we all should be - that means actually improving government, not cutting health care for poor people and slashing support for veterans.

The oil industry buys off Congress. No action on climate. The NRA buys off Congress. No action on guns. Insurance companies buy off Congress. No action on health care. The list goes on and on. Money in politics is the root of our dysfunction.

BREAKING NEWS: The White House has begun the process of looking for a new secretary of defense, according to a U.S. official who was not authorized to speak publicly.

Imagine how the MAGA mentality would marginalize this vital historical resource! The fact that Harvard University will house this reminder of the slave trade would be yet another thorn in Trump’s side. news.harvard.edu/gazette/stor...

"Unlike the chat in which The Atlantic was included, the newly revealed one was created by Hegseth. Named “Defense | Team Huddle,” it included his wife and about a dozen other people.... He used his private phone, not his government one, to access the Signal chat." www.nytimes.com/2025/04/20/u...

Every single service member and veteran, if they’re being honest, will all tell you the exact same thing: We’d be immediately burned at the stake if we treated classified intel the way Pete Hegseth has treated it.

*Of course* advance information on US combat operations is classified. Pretending otherwise is an insult to our troops, who all know this. The Secretary is unfit to lead.

"I fought for it once, I'll fight for it again"

Not sure who needs to hear this, but any govt official who violates someone's constitutional rights -- and is acting outside the scope of their lawful authority -- can be PERSONALLY liable in a civil suit. ICE officers. Cabinet members. White House staffers. Even the president.

This is getting fewer headlines than it should. After coming to power promising to help working people, the president is revealing his real priorities by actively making it easier for banks to rip people off.

Friendly reminder. In the United States, criminals are entitled to due process. Even if you pay hush money rig an election, steal top secret documents, or incite a mob to overthrow the government; no matter how egregious your crimes, you’re entitled to due process.

"Listed among the sponsors were companies including YouTube, Amazon, and Facebook and Instagram parent company Meta." Surprising isn't it? 🫣 🔗 www.npr.org/2025/04/19/g...

Goldman on Abrego Garcia: "If he had due process he would not have been removed. Then they would've had to go through the process of proving it. This is why due process matters- so you don't make mistakes like this. That you do have a neutral arbiter that decides the law. Not the executive branch."

Donald Trump claims he is very concerned about anti-Semitism and terrorism. As far as we know, he still has not called the Governor of Pennsylvania who was victim of arson and attempted murder. Does his empathy only extend to Republicans?

Welp, after 3 months of trying nothing meaningful to end the war they promised would be over within 24 hours, the Trump administration is exhausted and giving up. Absolute clown show.

If anyone you know in ICE tells you they’re “just following orders” remind them of the following: - they can read - they’re aware of the SCOTUS ruling and numerous injunctions around the illegality of what they’re doing - feigning ignorance will not soften their place in history…or in America.
