Glasgow-based dance theatre company @barrowlandballet.bsky.social has been named the first associate company of Edinburgh’s Capital Theatres 👇

Incredible performances in the U.K. premiere of Long Day’s Journey Into Night. Surreal getting to see and hear the legendary Jessica Lange and Ed Harris. #film #filmsky #cinema #glasgowfilmfestival #glasgow #filmfestival

So excited for this show, it’s gearing up to be our biggest production yet. Catch it at Theatre Royal Dumfries and Tron Theatre next month. 🎪 👻

That’s a wrap for ‘My Best Friends’, what a brilliant week with incredibly talented people. I can’t share many details but horror fans will be pleased. Look out for it in upcoming film festivals! 🥡 🩸 #filmsky #film #horror

Last week we began rehearsals for #WeeMan at Tramway. 😍 This dynamic dance-theatre performance celebrates & questions the shifting, & unshifting, rules of masculinity across the different generations. 📍 @cnauldtheatre.bsky.social 🗓️ 31/05/25 🎟️ lanternhousearts.org/events/wee-m... #Theatre #Dance

Day Two of shooting ‘My Best Friends’ directed by Will Willoughby. Pictured are actors Paul Ginns and Jack Carl. #filmsky #cinema #shortfilm #horrorfilm

Day 1 of shooting! 🎥

It’s been 10 years since I last worked on a film. It premiered at the London BFI Flare Film Festival in 2016 to a sold-out 400 seater and went on to win awards at film festivals across the world. Shooting begins tomorrow for a new short horror film ‘My Best Friends’. Excited to get started. #filmsky

Instant pre-order. I’ve been waiting for The Glass Ceiling for ages now, I get to upgrade my VHS copy and also my dvd of Morgiana. Severin delivering the goods as always!

In rehearsals this week at Tramway for @barrowlandballet.bsky.social’s Wee Man, a highly physical and dynamic dance-theatre performance that celebrates and questions the shifting, and unshifting, rules of masculinity across the different generations.

@thickskintheatre.bsky.social and @pentabustheatre.bsky.social’s Driftwood makes its Scottish premiere next month at the @traversetheatre.bsky.social. Two brothers on a beach need to figure out what to do with their dad - but the sea has other ideas. 🌊 www.traverse.co.uk/whats-on/eve...

Currently in Berlin and came across a retrospective of the Turkish painter and opera singer Semiha Berksoy who I love. She had her first leading role as an actress in the first Turkish sound movie in 1931.

I am SO UPSET I’ve missed this one chance to see Jessica Lange and it’s sold out. 😭😭😭😭 @glasgowfilmfest.bsky.social www.glasgowfilm.org/movie/in-con...

Is there any chance of more Wild At Heart stock coming in or have I sadly missed out? I know it’s been out for awhile @shoutstudios.bsky.social

📣 Meet the cast of The Kelton Hill Fair Teenager Flora is on the run. Defiant but desperately alone, until she stumbles upon a mysterious fair run by the legendary Billy Marshall. 🎪 Theatre Royal Dumfries, 21-22 March 🎪 @trontheatre.bsky.social, 25-29 March #KeltonHillFair #Theatre #Scotland

Tickets are now on sale for my new play 'The Dark Up Close'. Storytelling Centre on 26th / 27th March. They've used a photo I took last year as the poster, which is very nice of them. Would love to see some friendly faces! scottishstorytellingcentre.online.red61.co.uk/event/913:58...

Finally got around to watching Death on the Nile (1978). I loved how camp the characters were and the slight unconventional pacing of the film. Bette Davis, Maggie Smith, Jane Birkin, Mia Farrow, Angela Lansbury…has there been a stellar female cast as brilliant as this in cinema since? #filmsky

Not my favourites but a few of the films I’ve logged this month. #filmsky

Born on this day, one of my inspirations, the great filmmaker, costume designer, stage designer, writer, poet, gardener, and gay rights activist Derek Jarman. #filmsky

#NowWatching Céline and Julie Go Boating by Jacques Rivette (1974). Well…rewatching because it’s one of my favourite films. #filmsky

The amazing Barrowland Ballet is now on BlueSky. I’m excited to be joining their team as Marketing Associate. They’ve also been awarded Multi-Year Funding. ☺️ #theatre #dance #scotland

Beyond happy Wonder Fools has been awarded Multi-Year Funding. I’m proud of the hard work we’ve put in over the years & even more proud of these two. Wonder Fools is a welcoming space for all, we really stand by that. We’ve got so much planned & can’t wait to share it with you.

When I lived in London this was one of my favourite spaces to watch films. I have so many memories in there. It’s an important cultural institution that needs to be preserved. Cinema’s are constantly under threat and we need to be supporting local arts spaces more than ever.

Teaser trailer for The Kelton Hill Fair has dropped. Touring in March 2025. The show is going to be the next big Wonder Fools production on the scale of 549: Scots of the Spanish Civil War, perhaps bigger. We’re doing something very exciting and can’t wait for people to see it…and the set design 👀.

A busy 2025 for theatre. I’m excited to be bringing these shows to venues across Scotland/UK and Internationally. Also working on two shows for Edinburgh Fringe to be announced soon, a Youth Festival this Summer and two more shows later in the year including a Panto. #theatre #tour #theatresky

David Lynch would have turned 79 today…RIP 💔

The latest entry on my @letterboxd.social, you’ll never be able to make a film like this today. Probably Wilder’s most absurdist role I’ve seen him in.

One of my most memorable trips was when I discovered a retrospective of David Lynch’s paintings at HOME Manchester. I was there for a gig & it was perfectly timed. Can’t imagine many people got the opportunity to see his paintings up close since. He loved the city for its industrial history. 📸: Me

I went to see Nosferatu just as I heard the news about Lynch passing so not the best viewing experience but with that aside I wasn’t overly impressed, yet it was exactly what I anticipated it would be. Herzog’s and of course Murnau’s still reign superior.

💔

This one hit so fucking hard, I’m devastated. 💔

Latest purchases. So happy with finally owning The Keep. #physicalmedia #film #filmsky #bluray

Excited to tour our brand new show in March. Opening at Theatre Royal Dumfries before traveling to the Tron Theatre in Glasgow.

Happy New Year all. I had a brilliant 2024, very much looking forward to this new year and the many creative collaborations I have planned. Starting 2025 strong by working as an AD on a short horror film.

Loved putting this together, it’s been quite the year. Bring on 2025!

You just can’t come close to the art style of Yoshiaki Kawajiri’s anime masterpieces. I despise modern day anime, we definitely peaked in the early 2000s. 1. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust 2. Wicked City 3. Demon City 4. Ninja Scroll #anime #filmsky #cinema #film

Treated myself to The Substance soundtrack on vinyl 👵🏻🦠👩🏼

Merry Christmas everyone 🎄

Gladiator 2 was a disappointment but I anticipated it was going to be. A rehashing of the first film’s plot, lazy cgi, I also don’t find Pedro or Paul believable in their roles and personally very overrated as actors. Denzel was also severely miscast.

#NowWatching Gladiator (2000), rewatch before I go and see Gladiator 2
