It's up for debate, but I don't see why the discount rate shouldn't be very close to 0. There's no inflation and it's not like investments work the same way with money.

yeah there's nothing inherently wrong with trading up.
it's just that the market is out of whack so almost all trade ups in first two days are overpays

Also, great job by Rams.
Avoided the mistake far too many teams make: not wanting to trade down "too far."
And the timing is perfect for them. They still get pick at 46 this year but helps them load up next year when they may need a QB.
