Germany’s Chancellor Merz presented Trump the birth certificate of his German grandfather, Friedrich Trump. It was a clever jab to remind Trump he’s a German immigrant.

South Korea gender divide update 😲 Young men lean right by 50 points (74% conservative vs 24% centre-left) Young women lean left by 22 points (58% centre-left vs 36% cons)

I keep seeing this line about Poland’s president (who is radical right, not conservative). It’s like saying the role of the goalkeeper is largely ceremonial except he can use his hands to stop the opposition scoring.

Hawley is a disingenuous jackass, and @kateshaw.bsky.social does an amazing job making that clear in a very difficult setting in which to do that.

The thing that makes me angriest is the lack of contrition. These people are directly culpable for their friend being torn from her family. But they pretend that her arrest is an act of God, like a tornado, that just . . . happened. www.thebulwark.com/p/meet-the-w...

Please kill me.

The most surprising thing in this polling for me is how unpopular Israel was already before October 7. Quite a blindspot for me.
