Michael Waltz remains on the job but has effectively lost control over his own National Security Council—an institution that has little margin for error, Isaac Stanley-Becker reports.

“The Trump administration is asking us to reimagine America as a country that not only does not value public service but actually torments its public servants,” @elainegodfrey.bsky.social reports. https://theatln.tc/U64UnPy2

Trump’s appointees often seem to be acting out a made-for-television version of their jobs, @ashleyrparker.bsky.social writes. They “perform near-daily tone poems to a certain type of MAGA masculinity, publicly pantomiming their professional responsibilities.”

Was really fun to see all the subtle adjustments on a per possession basis last night during Warriors-Rockets. Some of those adjustments were as simple as choosing *not* to set a screen after a previous screen that was set allowed the Rockets to blow up a set -- as demonstrated by Steph Curry below:

Still not over this INSANE dime from Stephen 🤯

See you tomorrow, #DubNation

Basketball fandom is basically a push-and-pull exercise between losing faith in your own teams/players/coaches and having too much faith in your own teams/players/coaches.

Draymond Green made big defensive plays vs. the Rockets, but I want to highlight a subtle one he made last night. Draymond virtually knows beforehand or quickly figures out what the Rockets are about to run ("Spain/Stack" PnR preceded by a "Ram" screen) and takes immediate measures to blow it up.

Donald Trump has lost nearly 10% of voters—almost 20% of his support—since his election last year. He’s done so largely because he’s pursued the policies he ran on, and most people hate them. Who is at fault for voters not understanding what he ran on? I’d say the press is largely culpable.

"Though confidence in Trump's ability to manage the economy was a key selling point to many voters in the November election, 76% of participants said they disapprove of how he's handling it, the survey said..." www.usatoday.com/story/news/p...

Donald Trump in the upcoming article from The Atlantic: “The first time, I had two things to do—run the country and survive…The second time, I run the country and the world.” Pretty sure he’s getting dog walked by both Putin and Xi right now. What a narcissist.

This is why impeachment and removal exists. For grotesque, demented, and un-American acts like this.

JB Pritzker today: "Democrats – we may have to fix our messaging and our strategy, but our values are exactly where they ought to be. And we will never join so many Republicans in the special place in hell reserved for quislings and cowards." More of this please.

✅ Sending people to foreign prisons without due process ✅ Turning over large swaths of the federal government to an unelected billionaire ✅ Selling access to the presidency to the highest bidder ✅ A historically unpopular presidency The AP:

If he cannot carry out his agenda without breaking our laws, violating our Constitution, ignoring the judiciary, alienating our allies and crashing the economy… It’s a criminal agenda.

It’s Not a Cult.

Hear me out. No more interviews of the weird pronatalist couple. Interview the neighborhood dads. The guy who mows the lawn of an elderly neighbor. The people who live self-sacrificial lives that make other people’s lives better. Normalize that. A crisis in masculinity? Highlight this man.

This in a real story posted by NBC and blasted out to their email lists. The mainstream media is, without exaggeration, gonna kill us all.

The Trump administration is "willing to not just slash and burn research that challenges their political ideology but to replace it with shoddy studies designed to support their goals, under the guise of scientific legitimacy," @katherinejwu.com writes.

It’s interesting that secret service told reporters the guy who stole Noem’s purse what a white male, then they wait a week and DHS says it was an undocumented migrant but refuses to give any other details.

You have been watching the greatest economic disaster strategy from an American President in history.

Oddly calming and peaceful protest sign… #teslatakedown #teslatakedownart #protestart #handsoff

Of course.

How Hitler seized power: 1. Create a crisis. 2. Demonize opponents. 3. Declare a state of emergency. 4. Undermine elections. 5. Make the rule of law irrelevant. 6. Rule by decree. If America falls it will be because of the people who didn’t pay attention.

The founders had this thing they really cared about: “No person shall be… deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law.” And we are now seeing why they really cared about it.

Is that good?

Seriously though, who wants this? Who is asking for less safe food? No one asked for this… www.cbsnews.com/news/fda-foo...

At some point you really need to start to asking yourself, what does Pete Hegseth have on Donald Trump? Trump prides himself on firing people, especially for gross incompetence. He made a whole TV show about it. How on earth does he not see that this will only get worse?

Having fun with the window cleaner.. 😅

Me; Let's make a fun photo of this old box of 'De Witte Kat' (the white cat) brand for the internet, people love that sort of stuff. My cat Roetje; YOU WOT MATE?!

Just a little bit closer… 🐾 #cats

Elsa was VERY helpful with order packing today. She tried to hole punch everyone's boxes and did quality control on sticker choices. Oakley also helped by sitting on post packs and sticking his nose into everything.

Our local history museum has this painting of "Tinkle" in their collection but I have NEVER seen it on display. Always in storage. They open for the season May 9th and we're very anxious to see if it's out this year. Unknown artist, 1883. shelburnemuseum.org/online-exhib...

"Every bit of this memo is an abuse of her position as Attorney General."

i genuinely want to know what the hell is wrong with this guy. he is a total monster and i am a little interested in how he got to be this way.

What I'm actually doing when I tell people that I'm too busy to go out on Saturday night.

the weirdos who insisted children were being abused in the basement of a pizza parlor with no basement sure are quiet in the face of actual trafficking
