I will never not “like” this gif 😂

I don’t see an Old Style in the picture, so it’s not an official Chicago Handshake 😂
Now that you know how bad it tastes, you can go to Alley Light and have them make you something surprisingly good from it.

Capital-L Libertarians have always been “Republicans that want to smoke weed legally” in my experience.
Small-L libertarians are such a diverse bunch they sort of form their own no-true-Scotsman class 😂

Basically you fire a lot of bullets constantly to prevent the enemy from performing any action other than taking cover.
Suppressive fire isn’t intended to cause casualties (though it absolutely can)

Yeah, I’m gainfully employed and I easily spend 6+ hours a day “on video games or socializing”
I guess that’s just not fair either?

Standard Republican tactic, tho. They’ve convinced their base that government is evil incarnate while they’ve worked to make sure that it serves no one but themselves.

Southwest uses mapbox and United uses Google.
That doesn’t mean they _aren’t_ bending the knee, just that the maping interface isn’t a great way to prove it.

Those are also two setups that excel with good VR.
Situational awareness in VR is way more immersive than just a few screens in front of you.

This clip needs to play on every Dem mid-term ad. No extra context, maybe just a newspaper headline about Trump’s convictions.

This right here! The problem with Executive Orders is that the next executive can simply override them. Trump did that a bunch in his first and second terms.
This is two-pronged: continue to blame Biden for stuff happening now and reinforce the idea that EOs carry legislative weight

So “suckers” in this case would need to be “accredited suckers.” 😂
A smaller (but possibly still lucrative) pool

I am not a lawyer, but I believe there are (for the moment at least) a lot of regulations on the marketing of hedge funds.
General marketing (including the web) to sell securities requires you to register the securities with the SEC or sell only to “accredited investors”

But when started getting high on his own supply, he started to think he knows more than them. Add to that the naked embrace of authoritarianism, and he becomes an albatross around each companies proverbial neck.
What has he done for us _lately_?

I tend to think SpaceX’s Starship is problematic in the same way as the CyberTruck.
Early SpaceX and Tesla Musk had some big ideas, and he got out of the way of the engineering team to let them get implemented.

Social anxiety and general nerdiness mean I’d prefer to be at home most of the time, but I lived in Chicago without a car for 15 years. Mass transit is one of the best reasons to be in a city.
Trump’s picks always seem to actively hate the thing they are in charge of.

Except you don’t need to train a child on the entire internet’s worth of prose to get them to synthesize
a new (to them) story. We would actually consider doing so quite cruel 😄

I think the first thing serious discussion about “AI” should do is repeatedly acknowledge that we have today _isn’t_ AI.
LLMs resynthesize existing knowledge in ways that mimic other existing knowledge and are dependent on a training base of existing knowledge to resynthesize.

“The buck stops…. Somewhere over there… definitely not here. Probably Biden. Did anyone ever find Hillary’s emails? It was probably Hussein Obama’s fault”
The stupidest thing is pretending he wasn’t always exactly like this. Sure his brain is mushier now, but he was like this in the fuckong 90s

It’s still terrible at text (7 what now? And how many Es come after that weird XD character?) which could lead to the amusing end result of people holding up their written reviews “Love Actually” style to prove their humanity.

Easy! They accuse them of antisemitism as well. The trick is they don’t care about _actual_ antisemitism, so diluting the term to the point of parody is just fine with them.

I guess the theory is we already have a robust taxation collection administration, and it’s cheaper to use that than to set up an alternative means testing method?

My understanding of the major UBI proposals would be that the additional money would be taxed back out of the system for people over a certain threshold.
So I might get an extra $10k in UBI, but because I exceed the income threshold, my taxes would go up by $10k

In dealing with the effects of flooding here, my experience has been that friends, family, neighbors, and strangers have all helped, often unasked.
The Republican vision of disaster response is "I've got a gun and a cellar full of canned goods." The Democratic vision is mutual aid.
