Official Royals record prediction: 81-81
I’m clearly more pessimistic than most around these parts, so here’s hoping I’m wrong. Let’s play ball!

LeBron’s streak lives and he delivers a buzzer beater. Not yet, Father Time.

Duality of baseball. That’s what we love to see.

I'm sure that's a big part of the disconnect. I don't listen to other local podcasts. Still, my theory is that many fan bases are talking themselves into the upside case because everyone is so close in terms of projections, especially in the AL.
(It's also easy to have hope every spring, of course)

That's basically where I stand, playoff odds wise. There is downside for a rotation that was unreasonably healthy last year & a lineup that came through with RISP a lot.
But there is a path. The division is weak. The bullpen is better. I like Bubic & someone (Massey, MJ, or Garcia) could step up.

As a Royals fan who consumes content from both local and national media, I find it interesting how different the conversation is this preseason.
I wonder if this is true for several teams, particularly given that 20 teams are projected to finish at least .500 at FanGraphs.

Anyway, I’m excited to wake up at 5am tomorrow. Let people enjoy things.
Bring on the baseball.

This is a lot of a words for someone I don't care about. But I'm annoyed at the Internet points Chuck has scored by his rant when he only did that because the Lakers are the No. 2 seed in the West and he has nothing else.
Chuck/Inside the NBA are part of the problem with this sport's coverage.

After the Luka trade, Chuck said the Mavs would be better than the Lakers and that LeBron and Luka wouldn't fit together.
During halftime of a Lakers' game a month ago (a normal time to talk about this team), he just kept repeating "the Lakers aren't contenders"

Why didn't Barkley agree with LeBron's comments last week about the coverage of the sport? In a tweet, LeBron even cited that people should be talking about the Cavs.
It also ignores that Charles Barkley, a TV person, could be talking about the Cavs and Thunder!

If this was truly about the coverage of the sport, why did Barkley take offense to JJ Redick expressing similar comments about the NBA coverage?
Barkley called Redick a "dead man walking" during highlights of a Celtics-Wolves game.

Elly De La Cruz is a -130 favorite in the stolen base leader market after being +600 last year.
However, the preseason favorite has led the majors in stolen bases once in the past four years.

I have been high on the Red Sox’s chances this year, and love backing teams with young talent a year early.
So this was good to see.

I would still include the Nuggets in that group of top contenders because they have the best player in the world.
This should be a fun postseason (assuming health), but yeah the title is being won by one of those four teams.
