I go through far too many musical phases when coding as you can see here. I think today might be an Orbital sort of day though.

I feel like I just made my morning coffee, and it's now lunchtime. I should probably have some breakfast 🤣 Coding is good for making time disappear.

So many bugs with the Subway app. Previous app was so much better. Found one more today (Likely a dark pattern) ➡️ Choose redeemable rewards while you're waiting ➡️ Screen goes to sleep ➡️ Wake your screen to scan QR code, rewards are unselected Many people will have missed this and missed rewards.

Trading 212 doesn't make any sense. Set a buy on an asset for 8,950p, buy goes through for 8,950p Set a limit sell for something at 10,100p, sale eventually gets filled for 9,819p Don't get me wrong, happy with the 9.5% gain, but that's not the point. Might move back to IBKR

Is anyone making a decentralised Instagram at all?

When support tells you to contact support, that's when you know your support is a bot.

Erm... Ok. Is anyone else getting added to random lists all of a sudden? Apparently, I'm a porn bot 🙈

Cheeky Sunday tipple before we start the week heading towards my birthday.

10 apps are planned so far, I just need two more ideas. 5 apps have detailed project specs 3 are in progress and have a working MVP version. 1 app is nearly ready to go into testing when I stop adding new shiny features to it. Mainly discovering @revenuecat.com to help with IAP.

First 100 commits for 2025 in the bag

Some pretty spooky views on today's run.

It's wild that in 2025 Napster is the platform that gives artists more money for their streams.

Corporation Tax, VAT Bill and Self assessment, all dropping in Jan do not make for a fun month. I think I need to stock up on Ramen noodles.

App Monetisation... agian Don't want to use AdSense as it distract from the app. Currently torn between a small monthly subscription or a larger one off cost. What would you most likely go for? Getting MRR seems like more sense as my servers are charged monthly too.

Does anyone know of any research into mobile app pricing models? I'm trying to work out the best way to go that doesn't involve spamming an app with a ton of ads. (which I hate.)

I still can't get over that this is what the page looks like if you have access to multiple adsense accounts. Literally just that, no header / footer or other styling.

This ice is really messing with my running schedule. Think I need to find a field to go and run around when it crazy weather like this.

Just added a dark mode option to the current app I'm building. That means it's a proper app now, right?

I did not know that, Slack!

Back to work we go!

Now that my fitness app is nearly complete, I think I've got a crazy side project challenge for the year. Build 12 apps in 2025, with an aim to generate £25k in revenue or acquisition costs. I currently have four ideas that have been on my ideas board for a while now. Might #buildinpublic too.

Decathlon, where you get loyalty points for linking your fitness device and logging activities. More of this please!

Finished work on Friday, ill on Sunday. Anyone else's body just shut down at the end of the year.

My opinion is that Google naming and announcing algorithm updates serves as a distraction for many, preventing them from addressing real brand, product, and technical issues. I would be happy if Google stopped announcing them.

Anyone else noticing a spam email trend where they include a meeting invite in it so your calendar has random events in there? Absolutely reporting that stuff to @calendly-official.bsky.social Seems like people are just uploading scraped email lists, absolutely didn't opt in to these.

So that's a real thing that happened then... ➡️ Do a survey to ask about stress in the workplace ➡️ Sack the people that are stressed ➡️ Instant drop in the number of stressed workers So bad!

Guess who accidentally made an infinite loop during the development of an app and didn't know it was happening because the logs were hidden in another window...

I miss old Google.

Not looking bad for 30 is he
