While I do agree in general, too little too late is still better than nothing, and I'm not one to punish for what I want to see:
Pence calling Trump out for lying.
Some people take longer or drastic setbacks before they start being better people. (Optimistic, not naive)

Tears happen when there's too much emotion for us to handle, so our body gets rid of some.
Don't recall how true that is, but it helps to remember that tears are not a bad thing. Especially those from love, anger, joy, or sorrow.
