I’ve lived my entire life with this skin melanin concentration and it was the folks of your complexion that made sure I never forgot it. You’re right, life is more complex and if it wasn’t for the systems built upon the perspective of melanin, we wouldn’t need the guardrails to begin with.

Only someone with your complexion has the privilege of thinking of any upsides, of which I am sure will be far from millions. In this country, the benefit rarely outweighs the risk and the ones benefiting aren’t the ones getting impacted by the risk.
