They’re pissed they couldn’t get the military to massacre US civilians during the BLM protests, and absolutely salivating at the chance to try again.

Korean grocer H Mart appears to be coming to Ballard in the former New Seasons Market location (951 NW Ballard Way) that closed in late 2019, according to a new liquor license filing. lcb.wa.gov/resources/li...

Help @alexis4seattle.bsky.social qualify for democracy vouchers! www.alexisforseattle.com

You can give 10 bucks to multiple candidates in a race to help them qualify for democracy vouchers. If you’re able it’s a small thing and makes a big difference to getting campaigns able to hire staff more quickly.

Good news, seen from my mobility perspective. Mobility needs of men and women are different (eg women trip-chain more), and also that women are underrepresented in planning and decision-making. Read more in this study by @mobimaw.bsky.social: 7520151.fs1.hubspotusercontent-na1.net/hubfs/752015...

This isn’t a joke—Trump and MAGA are openly pushing for his dictatorship. At CPAC, where Trump is set to speak, MAGA activists launched the “Third Term Project,” comparing him to Julius Caesar and calling to keep him in power beyond 2028. www.news.com.au/world/north-...

Anyone have the energy / time to compile an action alert Google doc of all the electeds at state and city level for the relevant SCORE jurisdiction communities to contact? We need the state legislators pressuring these small city councils / & unelected city managers, too.

Why isn't Seattle on this list? These research cuts could destroy our local economy...and harm people. Mayor Harrell must be too busy wondering why his poll numbers are down to do his job. Seattle deserves leaders who will fight for us!

Just wrote Mayor Bruce Harrell and City Attorney Ann Davison about this. You can too. Email addresses: [email protected], [email protected]

Mayor Harrell Orders Sweeps of Enchantments Campsites: bit.ly/4k3Na0T

👀 👇 If you live in the areas of the cities that oversee SCORE it’s time to contact your electeds. Seattle — make sure to let Mayor Harrell that putting people at SCORE is dangerous.

My latest for @publicola.bsky.social on the high rate of deaths in custody at SCORE, inadequate medical care, and filthy conditions at the jail was six months in the making. “If they can’t get it to a point where there’s accountability and people stop dying, then [SCORE] just needs to be shut down.”

Seattle Fire is currently responding to a driver hitting three people walking at 15th Ave NE and NE 47th Street in the U District. Additional info forthcoming on this major incident.

This is bad: “Auburn mayor Nancy Backus declined to comment. The mayors and/or city managers of Burien, Des Moines, Renton, SeaTac, and Tukwila did not respond to repeated requests for comment.”

Must read story

(Some might miss Ryan’s sarcasm. The Office of the Waterfront is not in fact a transparent nor accountable department.)

Just the Seattle City Council being great at democracy again. Holding a public hearing on Sara Nelson’s stadium crony bill on a Monday morning when only Sara Nelson’s cronies can be heard🙄

@wilsonkatieb.bsky.social has been doing amazing work at @seattletru.bsky.social for TWELVE years! 🎉 So cool!

Alright, Kirkland. Let's do this.

On this list: Spokane Not on this list: Seattle

Abundant housing (along with other factors) is what makes cities truly interesting. Let cultures thrive by making great cities.

Sen̓áḵw under construction as of December 2024. The occupancy of Tower 1 is estimated for November 2025.

When Settlers Seized and Set Fire to the Kitsilano Reserve: "To be a member of this city means you are witness and you are part of the ongoing story of Sen̓áḵw.”

West-to-North view from the 26th floor of Tower Three of Sen̓áḵw. The tallest of 11 towers tops out at 64 stories.

If you want to learn a lot about the history and work at Sen̓áḵw, check the recently updated article from Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senakw

If you’re wondering why I declined to talk to the NYTimes, then you haven’t been following my account for very long. They bear a direct responsibility for the current situation we find ourselves in, and I responded by laying out my position and that I would only talk to @jamellebouie.net

Historic achievement for Washington! Nearly 10% of Washington’s state lawmakers are Black, bringing in powerful and diverse voices to our state’s Capitol. This is a major step forward in ensuring our communities are heard, represented, and celebrated. www.axios.com/local/seattl...
