I’ve been using this mentality. It’s also easier to bring people to your side when you’re welcoming those trying their best and not demand perfection. Sometimes you can and should be strict with your choices (often it does take effort/discomfort), but if you can’t, any harm reduction still helps.

I find that, when I have complex feelings I need to get out and consider posting it to socials. If I instead crack open a note application and just type until all those emotions have worked themselves out, then it's a lot easier for me to then realize that I don't need to post, and just delete it
