We had an app for that, Athena's Armor Skill System. Us fashion hunters could make the wildest mixed armor sets and at least attempt to keep it cute. But 90% of the time it did turn into "this is my ass kicking outfit"

If you got the waggle the Wii port is probably the most fun way to play.
