Continuing my Halo novel read through, Contact Harvest was really good! I realized that I remembered nothing about this book from my childhood apart from a couple scenes, so I was pleasantly surprised by it. The Sif and Mack subplot was probably my favorite part of the entire novel.

Been working through the OG Halo novels and they're all pretty good (dropped The Flood). The only ones I read were Ghosts of Onyx and Contact Harvest like 17 years ago, so it was nice to go through The Fall of Reach and First Strike. Ghosts of Onyx still slaps and I just started Contact Harvest.

Took a bit, but I finally got my Chun Li to Master rank in SF6. Was playing pretty consistently from Oct through to Mar, but got kinda burnt out by then. Played on and off until I decided to grind out the last 1k today. 7.5 hour shoto gauntlet, dodging every wifi player known to man.

1: "Warfare" is a... interesting? It's definitely anti-war, but it's anti-war from the perspective of US soldiers, and the audience naturally roots for them to make it out. But other than that, it tries to present the events as raw as possible w/o the framing of a larger narrative or statement.

RIP my Zowie EC2-A, a trooper of a mouse I've been using for about 8.5 years straight. Unfortunately it has a double click issue now. I was even using the previous version before that. Ended up ordering an EC3-CW even though it's a few mm's shorter. I have small hands anyway, should be fine.

Saw Thin Red Line for the first time today. It was very good. It felt very unfocused but I loved that about it -- the vignettes coalesced into something greater than the sum of their parts. Such a slow, philosophical, and psychological experience that oozed atmosphere. Action was top notch as well.
