I was there, and while I appreciate your spirit and effort, I left not out, but feeling down. The people in that auditorium were counting on you to tell them the truth, and you couldn’t even call this what it is: A coup, and quickly becoming a military one at that. Why is that so hard to say?

Your post/headline is overstating the victory. Almost 20%, TWENTY PER CENT of the votes were by the AFd. That is extremely concerning after what the Nazis and Hitler did to that country and Europe. Try to be more balanced and objective in your reporting.

Rather than framing things as “You were wrong” I’ve seen a lot of discussion about framing responses to these people as “You were lied to.”
You still get a bit of the schadenfreude, but it’s a far more inclusionary stance that’s more likely to bring red hats around.
