i'm also trimming all the fat that was in the old rulebook, so those 55,000 words might shrink but it'll be basically the same thing

mostly just formatting changes so far, but i haven't gotten to any of the big rules yet so that's to be expected
i don't like some of the older rules in there and they don't jive too well with the newer rules i wrote when i was doing the second pass of the combat rules a couple months back

v3 was the first one to have an actual rulebook that wasn't just notes and was Almost Playable™
v4 was the first version to use GURPS style skills and v4.5 was me throwing rules wildly into v4 to get it to be playable

v1 was the first version i made at the same time as the gmod staten island (i think?),
v2 was the first one after the big style shift in the setting and was the first time i used staten island pink in it

really the main issue is that half the install base of your average vr game has a glorified iphone strapped to their head with a big facebook sticker on it and planned obsolescence when the next one comes out

like, half life: alyx came out 5 years ago, set the gold standard for all vr games and then only a couple vr games afterwards even tried to copy anything it did good

i love vr, my only issue with vr is that like a handful of devs out there understand what it does best and none of those guys are making new vr games right now (that i know of, probably)

sometimes you can't be fucked to model a tree for the 100,000th time and there are hundreds of tree generators that've existed way before the AI buzz started (and they actually work instead of sucking)
