Retired NHS nurse, book lover, Rambler, Brummie, and frustrated writer. Currently busy despairing about the state of world, its politics and climate. This might be why I drink too much.

Seriously I expected him to be disappointing but utterly despicable.

If the Labour government was not so awful maybe it's supporters would be so negative about it. Starmer is making Labour unelectable as Johnson did with the Conservatives. He is handing the country over to Reform and Farage

I couldn't comment on this without a lot of crude swearing about Starmer. I'll just say I don't like to swear a lot, but I hate Starmer a lot more.

Sadly in UK it's so called Labour government has been doing the exact same thing.

It was woke a long time before fascists and racists started bitching about the term ... but it was bloody great. Politics has not ruined Who, bloody awful writing has.

Though I don't trust Wes Privatise it Secret Streeting with the NHS either.

Sorry but right and wrong is easy. The world needs to stand up against Putin and his allies the Trump / Musk regime.I get the sense the rest of Europe will show the way while Starmer wants us to be the bridge between the US and Europe. The bridge, a thing that just gets walked on.

Say what you like but Major is right and Starmer is wrong. You cannot play normal politics with people as dangerous and powerful as Trump / Musk. Other European countries see this, but our govenment chooses not too.

It is a bit sad when a long retired 'wet' Tory shows more backbone than a so called Labour Prime Minister instanding up to neo-fascist bullies.

I hope you are right, because the threat of the Conservatives and Reform is real and being dealt with in the worst possible way. I worry the longer the likes of Rayner and Milliband stay in the cabinet the more they will be seen as 'the same all politicians' and our cynical voters will reject them

The trouble is I think Starmer has done so much damage to the Labour Party in destroying any opposition getting rid of him and Reeves will make no difference. Apparently Wes Streeting is the next in line for the throne. Really. Just give Farage the keys to Downing Street why don't you

The first two of the three could be put down to ignorance, the third is just down to being evil.

I was going to make the exact same comment.

Sorry but I feel the Labour Party is now in a death spiral I can see no hope of it pulling out of.

Vernon Coleman is a lunatic that denighed the existance of AIDS in the 1980s. He now probably senile and writes even more bollocks

Yes it's a fantastic pub on the edge of the city centre ... and the cat is great. Excellent beer and food too.

True, but the cancer which has become the Labour Party will be a big problem to overcome to acheive this.

You know when Sunak took over as PM I knew I would dislike his policies but expected competence which never materialised. I have the same feeling with Starmer and Co. They are just bad at politics. Amazingly bad.

People need flights for business & holidays. So increase capacity at regional airports so people don’t use so much energy getting to their airport. Above all stop wasting money on private advisors so we can build a high speed rail network so air becomes like Italy where rail is better than air.

I agree in so many ways. As a country we have a history of pumping investment into the South East which is already over heated. As a planet we have an over reliance on air flight, I mean why is it 5 times more expensive for me to go by train from Birmingham to Edinburgh than by plane.

Curled up and died in shame perhaps. I think that is the kindest answer.

True, but let's be honest, not a surprise.

There also all in the South East of Engalnd ... so much for regional development.

Another loathsome coward. So typical of Starmer's cirle.

Did you read Owen Jones' price about the Green Party needing to fight rather than just being right. This looks like what they should be doing ... saying we are not Labour, we are better. And Reform are your worst nightmare

As a retired nurse I can only advise against holding your breath for Keir Starmer to ever do the right thing, as it could seriously damge your health

To make it even more niche my back aches after delivering Green Party leaflets this afternoon.
