I found @chrislhayes.bsky.social's interview with Schumer to be eye-opening. Now that I understand Schumer doesn't believe we're yet in a constitutional crisis, his tactical shortcomings make sense. But his position here is also deeply out of line with rank and file Dems. We need new leadership.

In 2008, I was pissed off that Obama couldn’t, or wouldn’t, do more by executive action…I’ve never believed more that the presidency MUST be one of the weakest offices in government and Congress needs to claw back its authority.

from NYT interview w/Schumer: 1. no plan beyond hoping it wouldn't pass the Senate. 2. never understood it was a leverage time not a binary choice 3. sounded old and cranky. Conclusion: Time to go. Biden realized he had to step aside but too late. Schumer shouldn't wait for the Const to implode.
