I firmly believe that buying books in the easiest way for you to access them is what matters because authors are going to be STRUGGLING right now, but you can check out this site www.indiebound.org Indiebound does sell ebooks and I think they still do a lot of good things indie bookstores in general

And Ky's Dem governor is popular. He's done some real good for that state, worked to protect trans and queer kids. That matters. A LOT.

And trans kids who have ACCEPTING parents have a decreased risk of suicide ideation.
Which is good since over 70% of Trans kids seriously contemplate suicide at least once & more than 40% attempt it at least once.
Affirming care LOWERS suicidal depression.

This continues at LEAST until 18, often 20 or older & some NEVER do anything more.
THAT is what it looks like.
Lots of physician check-ins & bloodworm.
Continous therapy.
Contingent on individual needs & based SOLELY on parental approval.

At about 14-16, if the teen desires to do something more AND PARENTS APPROVE, the doctor can consider PARTIALLY REVERSIBLE HORMONE THERAPY.
Blood work is done regularly to monitor the teen.
Therapy MUST continue.
The teen STILL sees doctors regularly.

The endocrinologist will do blood work.
If the labs look good, puberty blockers - which ARE:
SAFE
REVERSIBLE
are prescribed.
These just put puberty ON PAUSE.
The kid CONTINUES seeing a therapist REGULARLY. And his doctors every 3-6 months.

The pediatric endocrinologist will typically recommend a therapist who specializes in minors who suffer from dysphoria.
They will see that therapist for several months.
If the therapist feels the teen is truly struggling with dysphoria AND if they are in puberty?

This will VASTLY help with dysphoria & depression, especially if the family will do it. Having an accepting family will make a major difference, the kind that can save a life.
The next step? Get them seen by their doctor who can then recommend a pediatric endocrinologist.

That's it. You ACKNOWLEDGE that the person feels how they feel.
You ACKNOWLEDGE they want to dress as a certain gender & have that right - AND LET THEM.
YOU LET THEM USE THEIR PREFERRED PRONOUNS...instead of ignoring it, instead of mocking them.
You use their chosen name.

The same deal is available for Rachel Howzell Hall's These Toxic Things.
So. That one, too.
